Came to this part of the world as I was meeting friends. I was not sure where this cottage was and even following the sat nav given by the hist we were directed to 2 totally different places. Had to divert back to mobile sat nav on 2 different phones. But once we worked out it was fairly easy to get to. As the weather in September is a bit rainy, our car did slip and the slight hill became a worry. So we did not venture after evening time. The cottage itself was a bit misleading from the photos. The front of the cottage front was not kept well. Having a local person from Inverness she was shocked that the front of the cottage had ferns growing everywhere . There was nettle growing everywhere. MY friend agreed that with children this would have not been a good idea. I just wanted to see an inviting front. There is a slab that was stable so perhaps not good for elderly. In the cottage itself is just barely equipped. I think there should have been some sugar tea and coffee. There was no instructions. I have seen books of the property where people who have stayed give ideas of nearby shops places to visit etc. I think that would be a good idea for this cottage as this book would also have instructions on how to put the main electric switch on. I did call the care taker and it was all before 8 pm. Very matter of fact answers..oh and no WiFi . We tried to watch TV. We could not figure it out. The good thing was the cottage did get warm by day 2 and the showers was hot and full

When we arrived at the site at 4pm there was no indication were the cottage was located.I knocked on a random cottage and spoke to the owners girlfriend who took us to a small shack, which had a double bed,Only one cooking pan and only enough cutlery for one person occupancy The stairs up to the sleeping area were narrow and too steep for my wifes access.the access to the property was a high step-up into the shack.THIS IS NOT WHAT WE HAD PAID FOR!!. We could not stay in this property and left to find alternative accommidation elsewhere..We returned to the site on Tuesday 25/08/26 too return the key to the shack and were met by the property owner who explained that his girlfriend had taken us to the wrong property ALL CORRESPONDANCE FROM THE OWNER AND YOURSELF ARRIVED AFTER WE HAD ALREADY LEFT THE SITE..I would therefore like to be re-embursed as we never stayed at he said site.I look forward to hearing from you in the near future

The listing was further very deceptive , stating laundry facilities that did not exist and wifi that likewise did not exist . The host is not present on the property at all , there is no reception even for the hostel present on the property , and communication was terrible , including gaining access to our prepaid cottage that was in a state of disrepair and had moldy food in the cupboards .

The place could have been beautiful but unfortunately it was clear that it had not had a deep clean in some time. There was no washing machine as advertised, the garden furniture was broken, the back door ramp railings were wobbly, a dining chair was ready to collapse. The kitchen was greasy and dirty and the pots in the cupboard were dirty. The baking trays were rusty and coated in grease so we were unable to cook a meal. The sofa arm was ripped. The bedding was so old it was bobbly. The dining table was sticky. There were dead flys on the living room window sill. The jacuzzi did not work. The whole place smelt of damp dog and we have had to open all of the windows to air it. When we opened the fridge the smell was so bad we did not feel comfortable placing our food in there. The main four poster bed was so uncomfortable , we could feel the springs. The tv didn’t receive a signal. This place has so much potential and it wouldn’t take much to make it exceptional. Such a disappointment.

We loved the location and the cottage was clean. However, I was there for 5 days, and was informed at the last minute that their wasn't laundry machines available, no wifi and the heater in the cottage was broken and only a few towels.

They promised a washer/dryer and they wasn't. It was a little cold when we arrived. It wasn't very clean, a towel was behind the door on the floor.
