Good location to Woolacombe Bay

Spacious and comfortable lounge/dining area, well-equipped kitchen. Main bedroom and ensuite very spacious and comfortable. Verandah and setting very nice and onsite facilities are very good.

Second and third bedrooms are smaller, particularly third which is more suitable for children rather than adults.

The lodge is much bigger than we expected. The bedrooms were a good size and the two bathrooms made life easier for our family. The sitting room area was spacious and comfortable. Sitting out own the decking for supper was lovely.

Nothing that can be changed, but the "view" is disappointing as it faces other lodges. Having said that, it was quiet on the site and we didn't feel overlooked in the slightest. One thing that I would like to suggest is to reduce the number of emails sent by the host. I think we got about 20 emails and we only booked it a day or two beforehand.

This lodge was a good option for a last-minute stay. It was spacious and had everything we needed for our visit. Towels were provided and the beds were fully made up on arrival, which was convenient. Communication with the host was very good throughout. They were easy to contact and always responded quickly. There is a food venue called ‘The Depot’ right next door, which we really enjoyed. The food was lovely and we would definitely go back. The main thing to be aware of, especially if you are travelling with children, is that there isn’t much to do on the site itself. If you are planning to spend most of your time at the accommodation, there isn’t really anything there to keep children entertained, so you would need to go out for activities but the town was really cute and we visited the castle which is only a 20min drive and the kids loved it! Overall, it was a perfectly suitable option for a last-minute stay, particularly because of the spacious accommodation, good communication and The Depot being right next door.

Unfortunately, there were quite a few things that let the property down. Some of the dishes and crockery were dirty when we arrived, which was disappointing and meant we had to wash them before using them. There were also quite a few fixtures and fittings that needed attention, and the property would definitely benefit from some updating and general maintenance. The decking outside also didn’t feel particularly strong or secure, which was concerning, especially with children. Some of the fence panels had also fallen down and had simply been left lying on the floor rather than being repaired. Overall, the property has potential, but it would benefit from more attention to cleaning, maintenance and general upkeep. For the quality and condition of the property, we also felt it was a little expensive
