Apukka Resort

Apukka resort had very nice Glass Igloos with beautiful surroundings. Resort had several activities offered - Husky rides, Rein deer sled rides etc. We however preferred to enjoy the already available activities like Rein deer farm viewing, Frozen lake walk, Fire camping , snow tubing , snow Sledding there . Breakfast was exquisite with several choices ranging from jucies , desserts, main course food like oatmeal, pancakes, varieties of breads, cheese . We stayed here for the glass igloos experience and hopes to see northern lights. For our bad luck it was a very cloudy day that night , else the resort is far away from Rovaneimi lights and a perfect place for northern lights viewing .

Stayed in the igloo glass cabins, very atmospheric, beautiful surroundings. The fire log cabins around the property and hiking trails are excellent. Sled provided was a lot of fun. Overall staff very friendly, reception and breakfast excellent. However, most amenities ( sauna) are not included, which is disappointing considering how expensive the Aurora cabins are. Lapland activities booked through the resort are almost 2-3 times the price compared to independent providers. Unless you are looking for convenince you will be better off booking external providers.

​We stayed for one night at Apukka Resort, and it was an absolutely unforgettable Arctic experience from start to finish! ​The Accommodation We stayed in an Queen Igloo Glass Cabin. Sleeping under the glass roof surrounded by the snowy landscape felt surreal. The cabin was super cozy, warm, and surprisingly spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a great mudroom area to drop off all our heavy winter gear. We were even lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights dancing right above our bed! ​Activities & Experiences During our short stay, we squeezed in Autumn Husky Ride on Wheels .The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable and warm the entire time. ​Dining & Service The staff at reception and the restaurant were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast buffet at Restaurant Aitta had a great variety of fresh options to fuel up before checking out. ​Final Thoughts Even with just 1 night, Apukka delivered the ultimate Lapland bucket-list experience. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Rovaniemi—we only wish we could have stayed longer!
