Kulla e Lulash Keqit Theth

The view from the outside tables over the valley was fantastic. Location was good. Bathroom was clean in the main house.

Unfortunately there was a mix up and we were not given the room we booked on arrival. Instead we were put in a very cold portacabin. The bathroom was basic and very little hot water. The wall was paper thin and the snoring from next door was loud! €40 for the portacabin was too much. Once in the booked room, everything was as expected.

The couple who run the guest house are AMAZING. They don’t speak any English but they are so lovely and kind and made us feel so welcomed in Theth. The woman made us a lovely cup of tea in the morning and they gave us some pears from their tree. We loved our time there. Thanks so much!

Nothing! It was great. The only thing I would say is the property is a little tough to find I have shared a picture of the easiest way to get there from the centre of Theth.

Sehr nette Gastgeberin, die einen morgens einen Kräutertee anbietet und sehr sympathisch ist (auch wenn man nicht perfekt auf Englisch kommunizieren kann). Die Lage ist für Wanderungen sehr gut und der Blick morgens auf die Berge ist super. Das rustikale Haus liegt etwas ruhiger auf einem Hügel und nicht zwischen (ggf. lauten) Restaurants. Man kann sich nett draußen hinsetzen und den Blick auf die Berge genießen. Das Zimmer hat eine gute Größe und es gibt warme Decken.

Es gibt einiges was verbessert werden könnte: - Die Beschreibung zum Zugang zum Haus und die Parkmöglichkeiten fehlen. Anbei ein paar Fotos, wie man dahin gelangt. Wichtig: Nicht auf Google Maps achten, sondern um die Kirche herum parken und ca. 5-10 Minuten zu Fuß hoch gehen (Rollkoffer ungeeignet). Grundsätzlich gibt es in Theth nur eine Schotterstraße, was nicht sehr angenehm ist zum fahren. - Das Zimmer ist sehr einfach eingerichtet. Toll wären Verdunklungsvorhänge, so dass man nicht reingucken kann, wenn das Licht an ist. Schön wären auch Nachtischlampen. - Das Bad ist relativ neu, hat aber keine abgetrennte Dusche, d.h. der Boden ist danach immer nass (Abzieher aber vorhanden). Es riecht vom Abfluss und die Glühbirnen im Bad geben kaum Licht. Es gibt auch kaum Ablagemöglichkeiten. Die Unterkunft hat Potential und scheint nach den bisherigen Kommentaren sich auch zu verbessern.

The host was friendly and hospitable. She gave me fresh fruit and vegetables, offered me tea, and returned €20 to me during my stay, which I appreciated. The mountain view was beautiful, and sitting outside with tea or eating my dinner while enjoying the view was honestly the highlight of my stay. I also spoke with guests who stayed in the main stone house and they said they had an excellent experience, which was very different from my experience in the outbuilding.

Unfortunately, the accommodation I received was not what I believed I was booking based on the listing and photos. Instead of staying in the main stone guesthouse, I was placed in a small converted outbuilding beside it. My original room was extremely basic and cold, with very little sound insulation or privacy. There was no hot water at night initially, and when the hot water was turned on, water leaked across the bathroom floor. On my final morning I was moved into the room next door in the same outbuilding, which was better. I don't expect luxury in Theth and I'm perfectly happy with simple, rustic mountain accommodation. That wasn't the problem. My problem was paying for something that was substantially different from what I believed had been advertised. Had the outbuilding and actual room been clearly shown and described when I booked, I could have decided for myself whether it was what I wanted and whether the price was appropriate. I strongly recommend confirming exactly which room and which building you will be staying in before booking.
