The staff were amazing. We were on our honeymoon and they wrote us a cute little foldout card. They also gave us some feet patches 🥹 the hospitality was fully felt by every staff member. They helped us arrange for luggage shipping and even helped us rejoin some items we forgot before send off. The facilities were beautiful and fully utilized. When we arrived, they gave us two different teas to sample and their amber candies. The amenities and the closeness to Kyoto station made it worth it for us. Moya, being one of the biggest rooms, stunned us, from the bath and shower designs to the double vanities. The accommodation truly embodied the wood and stone elements that the OG carpenters wished to incorporate. It is truly a stunning and premium property. There is no other place I would desire more to come back to next time in Kyoto.

Nothing bad to say. Only wished we could have booked the double onsen room but I'd say the Moya Room more than made up for it with its multi level space.

The staff were superb. They gave us little personalised gifts every day, based on our interactions, which was amazing. The room was very comfortable, and you could not have got a better location.

I’ll be honest. It was incredibly expensive, by far the most expensive hotel we’ve ever stayed at. But an amazing experience.

One of the best hotels I’ve been to in my entire life. The room was spectacular; having our own big outdoor bath in such a serene setting was so magical. The service was 5* all round, super thoughtful, kind, efficient, polite and friendly. Big ups for Somo-san who is the sweetest waiter we have ever met and left us a little goodbye note and Japanese tips. Breakfast was an insane multi-course meal prepared on live fire in front of us, it takes a full hour for them to serve it all so keep that in mind when you include it. You’ll have choice of meat, fish or tofu, but I won’t say anymore to save the surprise!
