Foulis Cottage had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh. The view, from the cottage was great, and the property is in a great position for exploring the area.

A lovely little cottage surrounded by fields, yet spacious enough for two couples. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway, this is the perfect place. Watching the wild rabbits playing and chasing each other outside the window was a wonderful touch and made our stay even more special.

Words cannot describe how amazing this property is, located on a farm, the environment is extremely quiet and peaceful, plenty of rabbits and sheep to admire in the vicinity, very well equipped for self-catering, including a great gas barbecue, washing machine, dishwasher. Very picturesque views which can be admired from indoors (living room) or outdoors (bbq area). Cannot recommend this enough! Very well priced as well.

The location was good for what we were doing in the area. Well equipped.

Of the six properties that we stayed in during our extended trip, this was the most disappointing. Furniture did not match the pictures and is in need of repair. There’s a rug in the living room with a rip in it and a chair in the kitchen with a tear in it. As other reviewers have stated, there were cobwebs throughout the cottage and mold on the shower head. This cottage is attached to other units. The units next-door appear to be full-time tenants and the area around them is not well kept. The route into the cottage goes around the castle so you do not see it. The cottage is behind an area that looks like it’s being used for farming, but it has old dilapidated cars and junk everywhere. The barn is filled with broken furniture, appliances, and more junk, which you pass every time you drive in the property. There’s a list of “Don’t Do” things, which is not welcoming.
