El colchón demasiado blando

I liked the location and how easy it was to pick up the keys. Great coffee places, restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. The bed was big, and it was nice to be able to watch Netflix from the bed. I liked the working fridge (didn't use the kitchen). Plenty of towels and pillows, makes for comfy sitting on the bed. Nice to have a little table.

The room got pretty warm at night (stay was in October, it was average 20 degrees Celsius during the day), even though it was not summer anymore. We hesitated to open the windows due to mosquitos (hotel is next to the water) and noise from the surrounding neighbourhood. We didn't know how to operate the AC-unit (airconditioning) properly, so it was either too hot without out it or too cold when we turned it on. This problem might be just us, but make sure you know how to use the AC before you go to bed. When it was cold we added a duvet but we didn't find a duvet cover, only the sheet on the bed. So the sleeping experience wasn't great but might be improved with an explanation of how to use the AC. The bathroom looks really nice, but the water pressure is so so and there was only a little bit of body soap and shampoo. Tip: bring ear plugs for the noise of the nearby terrace in the evening (until about 11pm) and the construction work that starts around 7am in the morning. Room was relatively dark but people who like it pitch black will need to bring eye mask due to light from the oven clock and some peaking light through the black out curtains. Tip two: tall people beware: the entrance to this place has some low hanging ceiling parts.

The property is really all set up. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen have everything you need. It has a split system for when it gets too hot or cold. Lovely staff who check that your enjoying your stay. And a fantastic location. The curtains are thick and block much of the early light. The location is very convenient to all the places you’d want to go in Ghent centre.

These things didn’t worry me too much, but they are good to know. There is a steepish flight of stairs up to the room. Across the canal from the apartment is a popular restaurant bar that is open late, and quite noisy. So you can’t leave the windows open at night - it’s too noisy. The canal tour boat come past in the morning and can be noisy too. After the first night I used earplugs, which help a lot.
