Dubrovnik Old town Hotel Akademis Gariste

Excellent location in old town fort. comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly.

AC didn't cool the room well.

Location was amazing, just off a side street near the Pile Gates. Excellent breakfast cooked personally for you rather than the usual buffet. Was a real treat to have your coffee and breakfast brought to you freshly cooked.

Room a bit on the small side

The location is amazing. Breakfast is à la carte, but excellent quality (and we generally like a wide variety of options, but this one although not many options are available - it was really very good).

Wow, where do I even begin? The hotel had everything going for it to be highly rated, if it weren't for two major unacceptable inconveniences. 1- The bath towels were folded on the bed, and when we went to use them, we noticed dirt that looked like poop! 2- Reception is only open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so there was no one to help. I sent a message to the number via WhatsApp and Booking.com, and no one responded. I called the number, and someone answered, and they weren't very friendly at the beginning, but they indicated where we could get new towels. Afterwards they pointed us to a place to have coffee and cake as a form of apology. That was kind, but we didn't have time to got there and unfortunately don’t minimise the incident. 3- The hot water in the shower isn't enough for two showers in a row. If you don't like cold showers, this hotel isn't for you.
