The property is in a great location, and once our initial issues were behind us, we enjoyed the rest of our stay. The home itself was comfortable, and the surrounding area was wonderful.Unfortunately, our vacation started very poorly. After a 16-hour drive, we arrived expecting to unpack, shower, and relax, only to find the home had not been cleaned. The beds had been slept in and were still unmade with dirty linens, there was toothpaste left in the bathroom, and garbage remained throughout the house. It was clear the property had not been prepared for new guests. We also discovered that only two of the four advertised pool wristbands were available, meaning only two members of our family could use the pool at the same time. The host acknowledged that the cleaning company failed to prepare the property and refunded 100. While I appreciated the gesture, it did not seem reasonable considering what we had paid for the stay and lost the first part of our vacation dealing with issues that should have been resolved before check-in. I also reached out to discuss additional compensation and concerns but never received a response. With a proper cleaning and all advertised amenities available, this would have easily been a 5-star stay.I hope the host improves the check-in process and verifies that the property is clean and all advertised amenities are available before future guests arrive.
