Our stay at Fern Hills Cabins was magical. We stayed in two cabins, tucked among the trees on the hillside. They feel like a little secret until you step inside and see the breathtaking view. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with snacks and drinks thoughtfully left in the fridge. Breakfast was lovingly prepared by the kind family who manage the property. They were always happy to help and share local suggestions. We also enjoyed dinner at Cinnamon Vibe, just a two-minute walk away, with its cool bar and pool table. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

Very nice rooms, incredible views on the landscape and train tracks. Rooms are very spacious, nicely equipped and with very good standards. The price becomes especially worth it once you use some of the additional services for tours or to get into the city centre. The team is very helpful and always available.

The rooms are located quite a bit outside of Ella town. You definitely need a tuktuk or car to get there - but the team is offering driver services up until 10pm at night for reasonable prices.

Abbiamo soggiornato al Fern Hill Cabins e ci siamo trovati davvero benissimo. Le stanze sono moderne, pulite, accoglienti e dotate di tutto il necessario per trascorrere un soggiorno comodo e piacevole. La vista è semplicemente spettacolare: dalla struttura si gode di un panorama meraviglioso sulla valle e si possono vedere i caratteristici binari del celebre treno di Ella, un vero spettacolo soprattutto quando passa il treno. Ottima anche la cucina, sia per le colazioni che per la cena: piatti ben preparati e molto gustosi. Il personale, sempre gentile, disponibile e pronto ad aiutare. Ci hanno organizzato con grande disponibilità tutti i tour e le escursioni che desideravamo, rendendo il nostro soggiorno ancora più semplice e piacevole. Una struttura che consigliamo assolutamente a chi vuole vivere Ella in un ambiente curato, tranquillo e con una vista davvero indimenticabile. Ci torneremmo sicuramente!

The property was a small family run boutique hotel which we loved, had lots of character. Upon arrival our host was super helpful, helping with our luggage and giving us tips for tours & restaurants, The room was so spacious and had a fantastic view with a rope viewing platform just outside the door. We had laundry that needed to be done so the host kindly arranged for collection & drop off so we didn’t need to worry. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. We could arrange a time that suited us best and the breakfast was laid out on the table near our room with incredible views of Ella. We had tea, coffee, Sri Lankan food and continental food plus fruit. So fresh and delicious and the next day was slightly varied so we could try more food. The host mother who made the breakfast knew that we liked spicy food so they gave us chilli on the side, which made it feel more tailored to us. Would definitely recommend!
