Hotel Anco

Kleinschalig hotel met een gastvrije eigenaar en vriendelijk personeel. Ruime kamer met een keukenblok. Centraal gelegen dichtbij alle voorzieningen.

Op de badkamer was geen toiletpapier aanwezig en de dispensers voor zeep en shampoo waren leeg. Onhandige drempeltjes en opstaande randjes wasr je overheen kunt struikelen. Het ontbijt was oké, maar summier. Voor dezelfde prijs zit je in een kwalitatief beter hotel.

I have been stranded in amsterdam for 6 days so I was very grateful I could get a hotel room, its right in the red district so I could get out and have some fun until I was stranded. Carl, the manager was really good and professional, I am forever grateful. I have been given breakfast every day (included in price) and you can choose a lot of foods like ham and cheese toastie, banana, apple, granola, cornflakes, yoghurts, fruit reserves, butter, toast or bread, all sort of coffee. The shower is a walk-in shower (I was using a shared one... if I would have paid more for an ensuite room then that has microvave, kitchen etc, I only needed a single room where I was able to sleep for the time being)

It has areally steep stairs which is not good for older couples so I would recommend the upstairs rooms for young and mobile individuals only, though there are some rooms downstairs too which I have not seen.

Small, comfortable, centrally-located hotel. Generous host and a great breakfast to set guests up for a day exploring the city. A lucky short-notice find.

Unavoidable street noise in a city-centre location, but not too disruptive.
