Beautiful location and property. The chickens and peacocks were very welcoming. Everything was tidy. And though we didn't use the kitchen, it was well prepared.

The table and chairs on the deck were unfortunately a bit close to the toilet and it was noticable, we moved them to the other side of the deck during our stay and moved them back before leaving.

What we loved most about staying at Haven’s Hideaway was the peace, privacy and feeling of being completely away from everything. It was simple and rustic rather than luxurious, but that was actually part of its charm. Being surrounded by nature, having our own secluded little space and being able to bring Teddy made it feel like a proper escape. We especially loved the outdoor fire and the idea of slowing everything down—having an easy dinner, relaxing by the fire and then cooking bacon and eggs outside the next morning. There weren’t a lot of facilities or modern conveniences, but we didn’t really need them. It was quiet, private, dog-friendly and just a really relaxing little getaway where the experience of staying there was the attraction.

There really wasn’t much we didn’t like. The accommodation is deliberately simple and doesn’t have all the conveniences you might expect from a hotel or conventional holiday rental, but we felt the listing was very clear about what was and wasn’t provided. We had read some less positive reviews beforehand that mentioned the lack of certain amenities, but our experience was quite different. We found that taking the time to read the property description and information provided beforehand gave us a very accurate picture of what to expect. It’s a particular style of stay, and understanding that before arriving makes a big difference.

The accommodation sits somewhere between glamping and youth hostel. Full credit for the focus on sustainability. There's a creek nearby that would be great to swim in, if time permits. The hosts are very accommodating, and very attentive.

Sparse and over-priced. The generator sounds like an A380's engine.
