Lijiang MΛISON Hotel

Location is walking distance near the Old Town. Don't book a place in the Old Town as large vehicles (car and taxi) are not allowed in that area unless you love walking with your luggage in tow. Hotel is located on the street where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. Free water bottles and replenished every day. Room is cleaned every day. There is a washer and dryer you can use for free in the hotel. liquid detergent is provided in your room. Room has sound proof window so you can't hear the noise from outside. Air conditioner works well. Ask for the hotel address prior to arriving through Wechat so as not to be confused with other Maison hotel in the area.

Facilities is dated but functional. Elevator only goes to 4th floor. 5th floor guests take a flight of stairs from the 4th. There is no fridge in the room.

The location was within walking distance to Lijiang Ancient Town and Zhongyi Market making it convenient to explore and have many excellent food options to select from. The Front Desk staff does not speak English, however, they communicate very effectively using WeChat. They helped me organize a taxi to the airport, and consistently responded right away to questions I had. I received a WeChat each morning asking if I needed housekeeping. I replied that I only needed bottled water. Housekeeping delivered the water and also changed the towels I had used. Maison is a "modest" hotel with a nice 5th Floor open garden area and free laundry.

The Front Desk staff need to improve giving accurate directions on how yo reach the hotel from the Train station. When using Didi, the Front Desk needs to inform the location name is Huanman Hotel (Lijiang Old Town Branch), not Maison.
