Château de la Françoisière

Our short adventure to SW France from the channel ports began here. Delays crossing required a short stop for supper en route; but crucially the owners had provided specific directions beforehand to ensure we arrived safely at,'The Green Portals' just as dusk was approaching. Fascination followed from the moment the gates opened! The next 12 hours was a wonderfully exciting discovery of this chateau, the grounds, its rebirth, of the local Loir area between Le Mans & Loire regions. All our many questions (never mind unpacking!) were generously answered, and what an amazing restoration story unfolded for us. Our room was vast and very comfortable with lovely views and many extra including, local books and a coffee machine. We were well set until breakfast was delivered next morning.

The restoration of the chateaux is not complete - but it is presently for a small number of guests, and doubtless this number will increase shortly - which was the fascination afterall!

Amazing hosts, exceptionally clean property with great facilities. The bed was super comfy and we had breakfast brought to our room which was a lovely touch. All food from the local region. Philippe and Benoit couldn’t have been anymore accommodating!!

What a great find. Philippe and Benoit have taken on a marvelous 19C house that they are lovingly restoring. What a gem of a place to stay. The breakfast was bought to our room and was delicious. Will definitely stay again.

Petit déjeuner en chambre : pas fan... Manque encore sûrement qq finitions dans la chambre pour que cela corresponde mieux à l'endroit (un cache sommier, une tête de lit,..) Mais cela reste une grande chambre très confortable. Petit déjeuner correct sans plus
