YHA Haworth - Partner

Great location and was welcoming from the start. Room was clean and we got extra pillows promptly when asked. Games room was loved by the kids and was a nice place to relax (we had it to ourselves!). We didn’t have breakfast but saw another guest eating and it looked good!

The building as a whole looked a little tired but it is a glorious building and wonderful to see it being used.

Incredibly beautiful building. I was in awe entering it, and the staircase up has beautiful stained glass windows and a lovely area to relax at on the first floor. Kitchen facilities were stunning and very clean. It was quite empty when I was there - I only met two other groups of guests - so I had the kitchen to myself each time I was cooking! Even the games room is beautiful. Bliss.

The mattress was too soft unfortunately.

Beautiful building, very friendly and helpful staff and the place is really secure. I was a solo traveller and had an extra secure door on my floor. Facilties were beautiful and plentiful for a hostel such as the games room and tv room. Showers were private cubicles and sparkling clean. Love that you can buy a coffee and food here too. Wish I also had more time to soak up the sun in the pretty garden!

Dislike is a strong word but would have appreciated a closer toilet to my room and the water in my room's sink wasn't for drinking, making the communal kitchen being 2 floors away a bit inconvenient. The WiFi also doesn't reach the attic floor but first world problems!

The building is beautiful, and it’s a 25 minute walk from the Brontë Parsonage Museum.

I debated a long time before leaving a review, I don’t like to post negative comments, but in the end I just didn’t feel safe in this hostel and I wouldn’t like another woman travelling alone to go through the same thing. - It is asked to leave the window open for ventilation but the wire holding it was nearly broken, so anyone could open it from the outside(same in the washroom) - For a few hours I was wondering if I was going to be the only guest sleeping in this huge house, which is quite scary but manageable obviously. Then some people came in the middle of the night, I have no idea if there was staff or not but they kept talking at 3am like it was 8pm. - I get why there aren’t any padlocks in hostel dorms, but I very much regretted not having one in my private room, in those circumstances. - The shared bathroom was just dirty, with stuff you don’t want to find in the toilet. There was mold too I also asked the staff when I arrived if I could leave my luggage the following morning. I was told no because the hostel was privately booked the following weekend, and then only when I said it was not convenient, the guy told me I could leave my stuff until 1pm. I ended up leaving as fast as I could the following morning anyway, considering the whole experience. I have a feeling it’s not going to be a hostel for long, it seems more profitable to them to book them privately, maybe they should focus on that and not be awful to hostel guests.
