This place is perfect for anyone seeking peace and quiet in the heart of nature. The property consists of three renovated houses, which appear to have once been part of an old ranch. It is situated in a completely secluded and tranquil area. Located just beneath Monte Labro, it’s only about a 25-minute walk to the summit. The house itself is comfortable and tastefully renovated. While the kitchen is somewhat sparsely equipped, it’s perfectly adequate for preparing simple meals. This is an ideal retreat for nature and animal lovers. Around the property, you may encounter wild boars with piglets (they are shy and will run away if disturbed), hares, partridges, and other wildlife. Nature is ever-present here, and depending on how much you leave doors and windows open, you may find insects, small lizards, or even the occasional tiny scorpion trying to make their way inside. The last two kilometers of the road leading to the property are a rough dirt track. While a regular car can manage with careful driving, an SUV is definitely an advantage.

The property is rented through the Swiss-based company Interhome. Communication with them feels very automated. A few days before arrival, they provide the phone number of a local contact to arrange the details of check-in. She is very kind and helpful, but she speaks only Italian. When I booked this house, the listing included Wi-Fi. However, a few days before my arrival, the Wi-Fi option was quietly removed from the property description without any notification. Fortunately, the local lady looking after the property kindly lent me her personal router with a SIM card.
