Maran House Mardin

My room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were all so friendly and helpful! I also appreciated the fast & stable wifi, and the hot shower.

Two things to be aware of: 1) My room was right next to the people walking by. If you leave your curtains open you have no privacy. 2) The wall separating the bathroom from the rest of the bedroom only goes up ~2/3 of the way to the ceiling, so it's not as private as a normal bathroom

The building fit in with the Mardin architecture and used the same type of stone. Unfortunately they used the same stone for the floor of the room ( fortunately not the bathroom, which was ceramic or porcelain tile). The stone is soft and not cleanable. Thus it was disgustingly filthy. Little foam slippers were hassle. Otherwise the room was up-to-date. Room service was terrible. They would take away towels and we had to beg for new ones. I’ve had a lot of Turkish breakfasts, all good, but they managed to ruin that experience as well. Awful an a bit strange. The transfer back to the airport was a ripoff, almost 3 times a taxi. Skip the amazing view and find another hotel.
