The Ease

Very spacious, 2 bedrooms each with own bathroom. Very comfortable beds. East access to port, seafront and old town.

Building work meant we had no view from the windows. This will be temporary and didn’t spoil our stay.

Great for one night

The check in was very confusing

Location

Unfortunately, we had several problems during our stay and we do not recommend this hotel for anyone: The biggest problem was the noise. Being on the first floor, the room was extremely noisy, especially during the weekend. There was constant traffic, cars and frequent honking directly outside, and at times it was genuinely very difficult to sleep. We understand that you cannot control street traffic, but the level of noise inside the room was excessive and seriously affected our rest. Another major issue was the very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom/shower area. This was extremely unpleasant and persistent and seems to indicate that something in the drainage or plumbing system needs to be inspected. The shower itself also clearly needs maintenance. Water was not draining properly and would accumulate inside the shower area and leak out onto the bathroom floor. At times it was almost like having a small pool of water in the shower. This suggests that the drain, plumbing or sealing should be checked. In addition, the holder for the shampoo and shower products was broken, so the toiletries had to be left on the floor. The air conditioning was another significant problem. It was extremely weak and did not cool the room properly, even when set to 16°C. Moreover, when leaving the room, the electricity switched off automatically, meaning that the air conditioning could not be left running and we would return to a hot room. We also experienced problems with the hot water supply. It seemed insufficient for normal use, and on more than one occasion we ended up having to shower, or finish our showers, with cold water. Finally, the Wi-Fi was very poor and unstable, disconnecting repeatedly throughout our stay. We were working remotely on some days, so having the connection drop several times caused considerable stress and disruption. We are sharing all of this because these were not minor details.
