Waking up listening to the sea! It was very clean and the host was very accomodating.

The apartment was fantastic—spotlessly clean and with a very large, comfortable bed. The view from both the window and the bed is absolutely breathtaking. You can lie in bed feeling as if you’re already on the beach, watching the sea and listening to the sound of the waves all day long. We were also pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful welcome. In the fridge, there were two large bottles of water, several chilled beers, and a juice for our teenage daughter—a lovely touch that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Salvo, who welcomed us late in the evening and handed over the keys, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach is literally just outside the building—you walk out of the entrance and you’re there. The water is warm, crystal clear, and turquoise, making it perfect and safe for swimming. It’s a lovely family beach where local Sicilian families spend time together, often until late in the evening. There are several beach bars nearby serving drinks and delicious food. The neighbourhood feels very authentic, with mostly local residents and very few tourists, which we absolutely loved. If you want to get into the city, I would recommend taking a taxi or Uber, as the buses don’t always run on schedule—you might even end up waiting for almost an hour! 😜

Apartment was excellent - very cute and had everything we needed. Location was fantastic - so wonderful to step out and straight on to the beach. Hosts were very attentive and helpful - wished we’d stayed longer! A local rather than tourist vibe.

Casa Henriette was supposed to be the highlight of the final part of our trip to Sicily, but unfortunately, our experience was quite different from what we had hoped for. First of all, Salvatore was a wonderful host – very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The apartment itself was clean, nicely arranged and had everything we needed for our stay. We also really appreciated the location in a part of Palermo that is not particularly touristy. Most of the people around are locals, which gives you a chance to experience a much more authentic side of Palermo and see what everyday life is really like.

However, there were several things that made our stay quite difficult. The biggest issue for us was the noise during the night. The beach in front of the apartment was unfortunately quite littered, and local people would gather there and party until around 3 a.m. There were also groups of young people with scooters gathering directly below the balcony smoking weed. Because of this, the area was very noisy late into the night. Another major problem was the street lighting. There is a street lamp directly above the apartment's balcony, and it stays on throughout the entire night. The light shines directly into the bedroom, making it impossible to leave the balcony doors open at night and making it difficult to use the balcony comfortably in the evening. For us, this was particularly unfortunate because the balcony and the location by the sea could otherwise have been a lovely part of the stay. We also found the position of the air-conditioning unit problematic. It is installed in such a way that the air blows directly towards the bed and your head while sleeping, so it was difficult to use it comfortably during the night. Another important point is the price. Casa Henriette was the most expensive accommodation we stayed at during our entire trip around Sicily, and unfortunately, we do not feel that it offered good value for the money. Considering the price and seeing photos of the apartment and surrounding area, we expected much more comfortable and enjoyable experience, especially for the final stay of our trip. Unfortunately those things significantly affected our stay. Overall, we appreciated Salvatore very much and found the apartment itself clean, comfortable and well equipped. With some improvements to the surrounding area and especially the lighting and air-conditioning setup, this could be a much more enjoyable place to stay.
