Openness of main room and kitchen.
Finding it after dark was difficult. The sign that says Signal Inn wasn’t prominent enough to be seen from both directions

The unit was spacious and very clean. There is a boardwalk that gets you over to the beach, since there is a large marshy area in between.
The owners responded quickly when we had an issue with the power during our stay.
Lovely place. The upstairs loft bedroom is the only bedroom that has an ocean view.
We even got to see an alligator while we were taking a walk in the neighborhood! It was in water and didn’t bother us. It was fascinating to see in real life though.
We pretty much liked the entire stay. No issues with the rental.
There are bugs on the island, that can’t be helped. The noseeums were teeny-tiny biting ninjas. I made a bug spray with lemongrass, citronella, lavender, peppermint, etc. essential oils, and it kept them off for the most part. I only noticed them in the evenings, and usually around the beach.
And we met a couple of palmetto bugs - roaches with wings. We just scooped them into a cup and took them back outside. I knew they accidentally came inside and weren’t some sort of infestation.
