The Clifton Hotel Newcastle

The hotel is under new management and is undergoing quite extensive renovation to improve the facilities. The rooms are a nice size for a solo traveller and the bathroom is well kitted out. Unlike other hotels, they are putting the heating on, which is a bonus on a cool autumn morning! The staff are very friendly and will help out with any problems quite happily. The Wi-Fi is only in the public areas, but there is a good supply of coffee there as well as the bar and a drinks machine. There is seating outside for warmer days.

The renovations are ongoing, but look like they are not far off completion. The sound proofing is not so good if you get an amorous couple next door.

Seemed newly renovated, clean, nice staff and very good cheap value for money

The shower could’ve been more powerful but that’s my only complaint

Staff were great and very friendly. We were able to change our room no problem because of the location of the bed in the eaves. Bar and vending machine. Good on site parking. Rooms are clean and ours was freshly decorated. Great value for money just don’t expect The Ritz!

Height above the bath meant showering was difficult (room 35)

The staff were helpful.

The door didn't lock properly, the tv remote didn't work and the WiFi was rubbish
