The view on the back deck is amazing. They did a great job styling the house and decorating it. The speakeasy is a great hangout spot and something all the guests will remember. The game room in the garage was a great touch and gave us another hang out location. The location of the house is great and close to lots of wineries and breweries. The amount of parking available is awesome too. Quiet street and plenty of room for your guests.

It is located on a very steep hill. I imagine winter would be rough there. For our stay it wasn’t an issue outside of it being a little steep when we went to the fire pit outside. We found darts in a drawer in the garage, but no dart board. So very minor, but really the only two things I can think of.

Location was perfect between Penn Yan and Hammondsport. In the heart of wine trails and breweries. Plenty of on sight parking is available. Communication with host was extremely prompt and helpful. Host even went to purchase a highchair for our stay when I ask if one was included. Facilities were spotless and fully supplied for our stay. Towels and linens were very comfortable and had plenty for our stay. The speakeasy room is a real treat so unique and relaxing. The hot tub was conveniently located and in excellent condition. The hosts even provided us with some special little treats upon arrival which was beyond accommodating. I am an experienced traveler and I have to say this is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at. The host truly knows what they are doing to provide a memorable stay! You can tell they take pride in the experience they offer to guests.

We traveled with young children and the stairs were a bit hazardous. I mentioned this to the host and they seemed happy to provide a child proof gate for the future. They did a great job in responding to this.

Fantastic view of the lake. Loved having coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise. Tastefully decorated. Clean and comfortable. Very thoughtful amenities.

We had an amazing stay at Gallagher House & Speakeasy in Hammondsport. The home is beautifully designed with thoughtful details—cozy bedrooms close yet private with walk in closets, a great kitchen that opens right onto the deck with a perfect BBQ setup, and the speakeasy downstairs, which felt like our own private lounge for board games and movies. The screened-in hot tub was awesome on a cool evening, and the ping pong and foosball brought back fun childhood memories playing with family and friends. The location couldn’t be better—just a beautiful 10 minute lake hugging ride to Hammondsport or Branchport, and 15 minutes to Penn Yan, a quick drive to top wineries, and only minutes to Y-Knot with its delicious thin-crust pizza and local fruit stand. After six days, we’d barely scratched the surface of all there is to do. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for such a memorable trip—we can’t wait to return! The views are nice up and down the lake. The area is unique. It's luxury without being showy. It's more like a lake town in the Alps than Napa, but uniquely American. It's a really quiet lake, no one buzzing around on jet skis and motor boats. The hosts got back to me right away and the instructions are easy and clearly written down.
