The property is a really good size. Each “room” is a house within a beautiful and spacious garden. It had a kitchen, lounging bed, bedroom with shelving and a spacious bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, counter top oven, a kettle, toaster, coffee maker, pans and a few cooking spoons (there were 2 plastic forks and a knife left by previous visitors). The property was clean upon arrival and all fans and air cons worked. Although there’s no mosquito nets, we did not have any issues with mosquitoes in the house due to the screen doors. The owner and his family as well as the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a short walk to an absolutely beautiful private beach with very few people walking by and friendly faces along the way.

The kitchen was not equipped with cleaning supplies such as a sponge or washing liquid, it also had random mugs and cups which may have been left by other guests. There was no tea/coffee but there was a partly used sugar. There wasn’t daily cleaning, we were offered cleaning services once but had to decline as we were leaving for a tour. However, if you do need any amenities such as new towels, toilet paper or cleaning, you can ask anyone on the grounds or the manager Adam who will arrange for it.

The host was exceptionally kind, very helpful and honest. There was a good sense of safety at the property too

We had a generally good stay at this property in Zanzibar. The location is decent. It’s a bit far from the main beach area, but if you have a car, it’s not a problem at all. Nungwi Beach can be reached in about a 30-minute walk or a short drive. One of the main advantages is that it’s a standalone house, which makes it quiet and private. There is plenty of space, a separate bedroom, a nice terrace, a good kitchen overall, and a good shower. The territory feels spacious and peaceful.

There were a couple of downsides. The doors have automatic closers (like in shops), which makes them inconvenient — you constantly have to hold them open. The biggest issue, however, was electricity. Power outages are common in Zanzibar, and while the property has a generator, it does not power the air conditioners. Unfortunately, we had two very hot days without electricity, and the AC was not working. In such heat, this becomes a major drawback.
