The location is beautiful but difficult to reach with public transport/on foot. The house was also spotless and met our expectations. The Italian owners who live downstairs were lovely but did overcomplicate certain aspects - for example, there is a washing machine but they don't want you to use it and prefer doing your laundry themselves. Similarly, there is no iron provided and instead the owners will iron your clothes for you. All of this is in theory a very nice service offered, but in practice it diminishes autonomy and flexibility.

The apartment is managed by an Italian company who make life very difficult. We were put under enormous stress because we were told we could not enter the property if we arrived late - yet our travel plans were disrupted by delayed flights and missed trains. Instead of reassurance, we were met with a lot of pressure which caused real stress. I spent more than half my journey from the airport to the apartment stress researching options to get to the house on time. Another thing is that the Italian company adds additional fees which Booking did not make me aware of beforehand. For example, 250 euro deposit which isn't automatically refunded. You have to remember to request it and fill in a form, providing bank details etc. And they've added a handling fee of nearly 8 euros to then process this. They also don't mention the tourist tax - in our case, a guest didn't arrive till day 2 but there was no way to relay this so we paid an extra night of tax for no reason. It's all made very frustratingly complex. So just be aware of this when you make the booking - the owners are nice but the company managing the booking are unhelpful and will try and find any way they can to make money off of you
