Orchard Cottage is an authentic Norfolk brick and flint detached hideaway tucked away on the quiet edges of the village. Spacious and beautifully appointed, this property exudes modern pastoral charm. Situated a short walk from the village pub, and just a couple of miles from the popular villages of Burnham Market and Burnham Overy Staithe, Orchard Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring this area of Norfolk, and boasts space to park your boat!

Offering an abundance of space in a relaxing setting, this hideaway has been traditionally furnished with a kick of artistic flare. On the ground floor, the large well-equipped kitchen with breakfast table is curated as the social hub of the house where time will be well spent making lasting holiday memories. A convenient adjoining utility room is perfect for drying coats, boots and damp dogs. The exquisite grand dual aspect sitting room boasts two seating areas, an extensive library of books, and the electric flame burner adds warmth and ambience. From here, french doors lead into the expansive well-kept garden. An additional snug is an ideal spot for anyone looking for a quiet place to read, study or work. For less mobile guests, or those who prefer a bit of space away from the main group, a single bedroom and cloakroom are located on the ground floor. Upstairs on the first floor, three further bedrooms are beautifully presented, comprising of a master king-size bedroom with en suite, a further king-size bedroom, and a twin bedroom. A good sized family bathroom offers a separate bath and walk-in shower. Outside, the generous enclosed garden is perfect for enjoying warm sunny days and for allowing children and dogs to play safely. In the autumn and winter months, great skeins of geese fly straight over the house - a magnificent spectacle to behold. Parking for three cars is available on the gravel driveway, or one car plus a boat.

Orchard Cottage offers an extremely comfortable, well equipped and picturesque base from which to explore the many delights of North Norfolk. We particulary enjoyed walking in and between 'the Burnhams' and visiting the superb beaches at Brancaster and Holkham. This was our first visit to this area of outstanding natural beauty, it won't be our last!

Lovely well equipped spacious property in the countryside. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Burnham Market, but easy enough to get to.
A wood burner would be a much better option than an open fire, and some updating needed in some rooms (primarily kitchen and bathrooms) to make the property more accessible for all ages.

This was one of the best cottages we have had in many years of October holidays. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Beds very comfortable, lots of space, hooks on the backs of doors (! - not always provided), good lighting, seats outside front and back. Generally excellent. The only quibble was the rather poor shower arrangement in the master bedroom. Altogether we would thoroughly recommend Orchard Cottage - and the local pub is very good too.

This was our second weeklong stay in Orchard Cottage. Even though the weather was unremittingly dull, we have had a very enjoyable week. The cottage is spacious and has a large enclosed lawn at the back, which makes it ideal for dog lovers. Its location is in a quiet village, near enough to Burnham Market, Holkham Hall and Wells-next-the -Sea to enjoy their facilities, yet far enough from the madding crowds; and the Lord Nelson pub has reopened after several years of furlough. There are some easy going walks in the immediate area, though one requires transport to get to more interesting hiking terrain. Our only complaint is that we haven't been able to retrieve property that we left behind at the cottage, despite repeated requests over the past 6 weeks, which we presume is a fault of Norfolk Hideaways rather than of the owners.
