Wonderful property and location. A lot of stairs to get up to the apartment though!

The estate where the apartment is located is truly impressive. Driving through the gates and along the tree-lined avenue towards the imposing building feels almost awe-inspiring – a bit like arriving at Hogwarts. The communal areas, such as the ping pong room, the lounge with billiards and chess, the beautiful cloister, and the swimming pool, all add to the unique atmosphere. The garden and the path along the water are also lovely. In contrast, the apartment itself is rather plain. It offers all the basics – comfortable beds, a reasonably well-equipped kitchen, a shared living area, and Wi-Fi – but it lacks a smart TV for streaming and could use a more magical, playful interior to match the building’s charm. At the moment, it feels more like a standard hotel room. The welcome was very warm: a staff member met us at the parking area and guided us to the apartment. Fort Augustus is also a great base for excursions. Overall, a stay here is definitely recommendable, even though it comes at a fairly high price.
