Le Petit Bijou (the Little Gem) is truly a place to get away from the hectic pace of life! A perfect romantic getaway just for two, or a cozy space for two adults and two small children. Just steps to the sand, this cute little cottage has everything you need to enjoy your beach retreat. A sandbox for adults and children alike, it is perfect for playing in the sea, reading a good book, or snuggling in front of the TV (no cable). No phone land line to disturb your peace and quiet! Relax and listen to the calm ocean waves as you fall asleep in a full size bed. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the deck overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in Santa Barbara. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months.
When you want to explore the area, the lower village in Montecito is simply a mile away with a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Or take a 10 minute drive to downtown Santa Barbara to enjoy the many museums, theatres, and shops on State Street.
If you are flying into the area, the property is easily accessible from Santa Barbara Airport (only about 20 minutes away) and Los Angeles (90 miles south).

we live near by in SB and wanted to have a little vacation without going too far. we loved the cozy beach cottage, it was just what we were looking for. we'll come back again for sure!

The greatest thing about staying at this property is that it borders a dog friendly beach - especially since the owner does not allow visitors to bring their dogs. It was great to interact with all the great dogs on the beach. It was also really great to be able to walk out the back door and run on the beach for a couple of hours. The bike path is also a big plus. We saw dolphins and sea lions daily. I understand the trendy idea behind the "cable and internet free zone" but this is really a negative about this property - especially staying here in the winter when the sun sets early and sitting out on the back porch is unrealistic in the cold weather. Owner says that she advertises that there is no cable or internet at the house but I didn't realize that when I booked the house. When we were there a storm was predicted and the area had forced evacuations because of the devastating mud/land slide potential. I heard about the evacuations from a woman walking her dog on the beach. Local news access would have been a big plus. SO everyone there is NO cable or internet at the house. The rabbit ears attached to the TV do not bring in local news channels. The TV is of VERY poor quality, the speakers don't work and the DVD player doesn't work all that well either. So go prepared. Get an app for local weather and channels, load up your devices with movies, etc., so that you will have something to watch after the sun goes down and it is cold outside. I won't go back.
