River Cottage – Under the Gaze of Gulaga
Tucked beneath the sacred slopes of Gulaga Mountain in the heart of Tilba Tilba, River Cottage is a serene hideaway that feels a world away. Surrounded by lush trees, rambling gardens, and birdsong, this charming country retreat invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature’s quiet rhythm.
Inside, you’ll find timeless character and comfort — soft linens, french provincial elegance, and gentle light streaming through cottage windows. Step outside to your private terrace, where you can sip your morning coffee while being gently mesmerised by the sound of water flowing past, mingling with the whisper of the gardens as mist drifts through the valley or share wine under a canopy of stars.
From your doorstep, explore the historic Tilba villages, National Trust–listed streets, and nearby beaches and walking trails. Whether you’re seeking a romantic escape, a soulful retreat, or a peaceful base to explore the South Coast, Olive Tree Cottage offers an experience that feels both grounding and enchanting.
It’s more than a stay — it’s a little piece of Tilba magic.

Loved our stay. Property is in the most wonderful surrounds with a short walk to a lovely Cafe and 5 min drive to Central Tilba which is a quaint little town with lots of shopping to be had. The breakfast is a must with host Lyn delivering to the back patio to enjoy while admiring the beautiful views.

One of the best pet friendly places we've ever stayed at. The garden is beautiful and the pet friendly section is both secure and spacious. Lyn and Robert were great hosts. We are definitely planning to stay here again.
