The Madrone House welcomes you to the Pacific Northwest, tucked at the base of the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountain Ranges. Located on our secluded 40 acres, this 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath. will ensure your friends and family a comfortable stay. The kitchen is readily stocked with spices and a chefs array of appliances. Enjoy barbecue on the spacious back deck looking towards Grizzly Peak, and surrounding rolling hills with local wild life. A cozy wood stove and a hardy supply of wood, for winter nights if you desire, This quiet country getaway is just 10 minutes off I-5. The Madrone House is an easy 15 minutes to downtown Ashland. Upscale eateries, fun local breweries and fabulous award winning wineries await you. Wine tours are available from Ashland to the famous Applegate valley. Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Angus Bowman Theater, Cabaret Theater and Independent Film festival are just a few must sees Ashland has to offer. Just 6 minutes from Emigrant Lake, for boating, skiing, fishing and a water slide. Howard Prairy Lake, Hyatt Lake, Lake of the Woods and Diamond Lake are all 45 minutes away. Mt. Ashland is 30 minutes away. Its said" If you can ski this mountain ,you can ski anywhere in the world". After a day on the slopes, apres-ski at the Madrone House.The Pacific Crest Trail is a 30 minute drive for hiking. Historic downtown Jacksonville, Britt Festival, Hell Gate Jetboat excursions and Crater Lake National Park, (one of the 7th wonders of the world!) are just a few more exciting adventures awaiting you here in Southern Oregon. The house was impeccably clean, it felt almost new. The deck was really nice. All the furniture was in great shape and beautiful, both the outdoor and indoor. The towels seemed brand new. The beds were comfy. The rollaway bed was firm and easy to set-up. There were fairy lights on the window sills. There were a lot of air fresheners and fragrance. It smelled great to us, but if you are sensitive to fragrance, you might ask the host ahead of timeThe kitchen had every appliance you could imagine. Stove worked great. The BBQ was clean and worked well. The only things we couldn't find were scissors and there was only one cutting board. There were board games for the kids. All the pieces were there. I don't know about the TV or DVD players, we didn't use them. I imagine they work, based on everything else in the house.Unbelievable view, the photos don't do it justice. There is a lovely view of hillscapes in the distance, you can watch the clouds go by and storms roll through. Trees everywhere, grassy hills, cows and deer. Quiet.The road in is very country/gravel. The driveway up to the house was steep. We were happy in an all-wheel drive car. The big family dog was so incredibly sweet and friendly. There was a little cattle/collie dog who said hi and was also super friendly. There is a large rock hill, my kids enjoyed climbing - hopefully that was okay.The host was easy to contact, informative and helpful. 10/10 we would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful place near Ashland, Oregon! Nice and remote for a relaxing weekend but still close to town and easy to access. The owners were super nice and made themselves available for anything we needed. Very cozy and clean place, lots of room and slept our crew of 9 comfortably. Kitchen was great to cook in and had everything we needed, the living room and deck were spacious places to hangout. If you stay here make sure to go out on the porch with the lights off as the stars are stunning.

Very comfortable and clean house with lovely linens and towels, and cozy beds. Views were a plus, along with the privacy of being in the country. We enjoyed watching the deer and the ground squirrels. And it's just a 20-minute drive to downtown Ashland and the theatres.

Not far from town. House was on owners property but the rental is private so we never saw anyone but they were at least close by if we needed.The beds were comfortable & kitchen was stocked good. Nice views too! Id recommend & stay here again.
