# Kelly's Point – A Rustic Lake Michigan Escape

Kelly's Point is a nearly 100-year-old historic cabin located just 40 feet from the shoreline of Lake Michigan in a wooded, natural setting. Because of its age and location, you will likely encounter wildlife, depending on the season. This may include, but is not limited to, raccoons, skunks, bald eagles, squirrels, rodents, snakes, and other native wildlife.

If you have a phobia of wildlife or are uncomfortable staying in a natural environment where animals are present, Kelly's Point may not be the right fit for you—and that's perfectly okay. We completely understand. Experiencing nature up close is part of what makes Kelly's Point so special.

Wildlife populations naturally fluctuate from year to year as part of Beaver Island's delicate ecosystem.

**Well Water:** Kelly's Point is supplied by a private well. The water is tested and safe to drink. At times, it may have a slight sulfur (mineral) odor, and it may appear cloudy or white when first drawn due to tiny air bubbles. This is normal for well water and clears within a few moments.

## Getting to Beaver Island

Your journey begins in Charlevoix, Michigan. From there, choose either a scenic two-hour ferry ride aboard the Emerald Isle or a quick 20-minute flight to Beaver Island. You can also fly into Pellston or Traverse City and connect through Charlevoix.

**If you plan to bring your vehicle, reserve ferry space well in advance, as vehicle reservations often fill quickly.**

Once on the island, enjoy the slower pace, friendly community, and beautiful scenery. Kelly's Point is about a 20-minute drive from town along Beaver Island's scenic, mostly unpaved roads.

## The Cabin

Originally built in the 1930s, Kelly's Point has been thoughtfully updated while preserving its historic character. This 900-square-foot cabin comfortably accommodates two guests and features:

* One queen bedroom
* Indoor toilet
* Outdoor shower
* Kitchen with sink
* Electricity
* Open-concept living space with eleven windows overlooking Lake Michigan
* Spacious front porch
* Private beachfront fire pit
* A blend of new furnishings and island antiques

Kelly's Point is a historic, rustic cabin—not a luxury resort. While it offers modern conveniences, guests should expect the charm and character that come with staying in a nearly century-old island cabin.

Whether you're looking for adventure or complete relaxation, Beaver Island offers something for everyone.

* Walk miles of beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline
* Swim in crystal-clear water (water shoes are recommended due to the natural rocky shoreline)

* Explore more than 100 miles of island roads
* Visit the island's restaurants, shops, museums, and lighthouses
