13 Acre Retreat an hour outside of Dallas with 3 Fishing Ponds stocked with Bass, Blue Gill, Catfish and Crappie! Secluded and quite, yet only 10 miles to Canton and First Monday Trade Days. Fish from the private balcony (catch and release), make a roaring camp fire in the fire pit, take the Jon boat out on the large ponds, bird watch, star gaze, play horseshoes, or just relax and take in the nature. Antique and art shopping in nearby Canton and other charming cities like Ben Wheeler and Edom (with its thriving art community).
Charming cabin reminiscent of an old schoolhouse can sleep up to 8 guests on 2 floors. First floor has a separate bedroom with queen bed and queen size pullout sofa, as well as private bath with shower, spacious living room with tv, and fully stocked kitchen. Upstairs is accessed through a separate outside entrance for another family or teenage kids, and also includes a private bedroom with king bed, queen size pull out sofa, private bath with tub, stocked kitchen and large living space with large screen tv.
Pet friendly for an additional fee ($30/nt). Please make sure you pet is properly vaccinated and has flea/tick protection.

Definitely an oasis! The property is beautiful, managed perfectly, and our time here was amazing!The accommodations were above our expectations, communication with the hosts was superb! They have a beautiful property that lives up to its reputationFishing was so much fun! I caught around 15 large mouth bass none less than 1.75-2lbs, biggest was around 3.5 lbs. The pond is well maintained, a lot of structure and areas to fish. We had a lot of grass and the water wasn’t as clear, but that’s due to nature. They had a lot of rain prior to our arrival. Using Senko plastics wacky style the bite was great. It’s a perfect place for beginner or experienced anglers! Definitely going back again

The cabin is private, the view and wildlife were peaceful, we had all we needed for our short stay. The host gave accurate check-in instructions and directions, the cabin was clean. A friend and i were in town for Canton Trade Days, we liked we had two separate apartments with everything we needed, short 10-15 min drive into Canton and well away from all the traffic and congestion.

Cabin was neat and tidy, but not clean. Filthy sinks, dirty dishes, molding coffee grounds in coffee maker, tv screen and windows all needed to be cleaned. Nothing appeared to be wiped down, like counters, sinks, table, refrigerator, stove top… Overall I felt unclean all weekend. There was only one very old remote for the tv ( could not read writing on remote) for both units and it didn’t work.( I did swap batteries with AC remote in the room, but still the one remote wouldn’t turn on either tv) Thankfully the tv was Roku and I could use my phone. There were no keys in lock box when arrived but host was quick to respond with directions for a spare key close by. I was alone and only used the downstairs unit so I can not respond to the upstairs. The property was neatly maintained, very quiet and pretty. I was a little put off that there was no “chair” to sit on indoors. Only an old couch( dirty and well used) and two small wooden benches meant for dining. Nice place, but I recommend a new cleaning company.
