Logis Hôtel Restaurant de La Croix d'Or-Avranches

Expected a stop off en route from Cherbourg. Got a fabulous hotel with an unbelievably good restaurant!

The restaurant. It's excellent and the prices are reasonable. I would go back just for the restaurant.

The rooms are tired. However, they are still comfortable and quiet. I would stay there again.

Fabulous hotel. Fantastic evening meal and breakfast. Very helpful and kind staff. Very comfortable room and bed. Would thoroughly recommend 👍🥳. We were a group of four cyclists, two had electric bikes and the hotel had secure stowage for bikes and no problem for charging.

Very convenient situation for visiting Avranches, excellent parking area. The hotel is steeped in history with an abundance of authentic relics on show - very interesting and educational.

Receptionist could have been more friendly and welcoming. The day before I arrived I received an email to say that Le Croix d'Or had changed its name to Logis le Croix d'Or. Neither the receptionist nor the barman seemed aware of this and were unable to tell us anything about it. The bathroom was very small and cramped with no hooks to hang anything. The water outlet knob in the sink jammed so were unable to empty water. the receptionist came and also failed. She took the plug out and told us to just let the water run and not use the plug. No suggestion of repairing it - not very economical on the hotel water. The wallpaper behind the headboard centre was peeling off and there were cobwebs on the ceiling. Generally the room looked tired and in need of a facelift.
