This vacation home is on a sand dune directly on Lake Shore Dr, across the street from the beach access path to Lake Michigan. Wake up to views of Lake Michigan. Step out onto the 2nd floor deck off the master bedroom and have a cup of coffee as you gear up for a great day at the beach!
There is plenty of parking available in front of the house on Lake Shore Dr. From the parking area, you will climb the stairs to this 6 bedroom beach home with excellent views!
The house is decorated and furnished to give you a great home away from home!
The living room, directly across from the open kitchen, invites you to gather and be amongst the ones you love to be with. There is 1 bedroom and 1 full bath on the main level, and 4 bedrooms and 1 full bath upstairs. The basement is newly finished. There is a large bedroom, family room living area with a large screen Roku TV, a full bathroom, a desk/workspace, and a washer/dryer in the newly finished basement.

There is a deck off the family room at the front of the house and a 2nd floor rooftop deck, both overlooking Lake Michigan. There is a fire pit with a gravel surrounding in the rear of the home. The home is equipped with Wifi, Roku TVs, and cable TV in the living room (4 TOTAL TVS) so you can stay connected as much or as little as you want. The home has central A/C and a Furnace. There is a keurig coffee maker in addition to a regular pot coffee maker.
Perfect for Triathletes, Cyclists and Marathoners - The Lake offers un-rivaled facilities for swimming, great beaches. Hundreds of miles of cycling, bike friendly roads and running by the Beach... nothing better in the Midwest.. And some excellent dining and shopping nearby!

Location is great. But maintenance is badly needed. There are some real safety hazards unfortunately. The tv in the main living room is mounted in probably the most unsafe way I’ve ever seen. (Screws *through* the small plastic feet that come with tv is what is preventing it from crashing onto someone’s head. God forbid a small child. The metal grills in the gas oven don’t fit that appliance, so if you place food on it, it will fall into the oven. Please make sure there’s no oil in whatever pot/pan you’re using. We’d planned/hoped to do most of our cooking outside. But we couldn’t. The outdoor grill is gas/propane and I assume you’d have to bring/buy your own tank because the one that was there when we stayed was rusted and empty. Why there isn’t a simple charcoal grill back there is one of the dozen mysteries we pondered throughout our stay. Some of the tables, including the main dining table are unstable, using improper screws and not the right amount of screws. Look, we didn’t expect a luxury stay. It was a last minute Memorial Day Weekend booking because of a family issue that required us to stay closer to home. But the lack of care goes a bit too far when you’re concerned about the safety of the kids in the house. The property itself has a ton of potential. A ton. But in its current state, it’s not a good option for families with kids.

My family of 8 adults, 5 kids stayed here for a family vacation. We loved Michigan City, and the place fit our family great, but we probably wouldn’t stay at this place again. The towels were all damp upon arrival, which the host did respond to - the cleaning company brought more towels but those smelled like smoke. There were no beach towels. There were beach chairs and toys to use which was great! The basement bedroom has unsealed windows which caused bugs to enter the room and even the bed, so we didn’t use that room the whole time - I messaged the host about this but didn’t get a response. The grill, oven, cookware, etc were all usable but not as clean or well kept as I typically use in my own home! Most of the bedrooms are also on the top floor which were hard to cool down while we were there despite blasting the AC. All that being said, we loved the trip because our access to the beach and town was excellent, and the views from the deck were great (though the deck and table are a bit aged)! There are also 30 stairs from the car to the front door, which was fine for us but could easily be an issue for some. It’s not a bad place to stay, but be mindful of these things when booking.
