Forget your alarm clock; awaken to the sounds of conga/howler monkeys and tropical birds in this Caribbean style home with Bali Style Pool just 300 meters from Cocles Beach for surfing, swimming and sun bathing.
Made of Costa Rican hardwoods and ceramic tiles, this nearly 2000 square feet, 2 BR/2&1/2 Baths home has an open floor plan with Bali Style Pool downstairs where the hummingbirds like to visit, and a wrap around balcony upstairs with 2 spacious bedrooms. The pool was added to the house in September of 2022. The home is surrounded by forests and beautiful fruit trees affording a lot of privacy (with luck you might see toucans eating the papaya); and yet you will not be isolated as there are neighbors close by. A car is not necessary as you will be only minutes walking or biking for anything you may want to see: beautiful beaches, jaguar refuge, horseback riding, restaurants, night life, grocery stores, etc. TukTuks are another great and available form of transportation. Uber is also here. :)
The home is located in Miss Winnie Town, a small community within the city of Cocles, less than 2 miles south of Puerto . In the neighborhood there are vacation and permanent Tico homes(Tico is a friendly nickname for a Costa Rican). Here you will enjoy a lot of privacy and at the same time you will have friends and neighbors close to you. Lovely property that felt very safe and tucked away. We were worried about the heat and no AC when we arrived- but found that the fans upstairs and keeping the shutters open until we went to bed cooled everything down so nicely. The beaches across the street were really fun- but definitely bigger waves to play in, vs a calm water beach (which there is down the road a bit more). We had a blast riding our bikes around town and to different beaches to try out. It was the only way to get around with traffic as crazy as it was during Holy Week, while we were there. The hosts, Shelly and Carlos, live next door and were awesome! So helpful with tips of where to go and what to try, Carlos always saying yellow and being so welcoming whenever we ran into him out and about, and just overall seemed like such good and warm people.

Shelley, Carlos, and Darien are AMAZING. My family and I had such a memorable stay at their home. The open concept is exactly what you want at a location within the rain forest. They were very accommodating throughout our stay. The location is within walking distance from 3 grocery stores (supermarkets), a pharmacy, and delicious restaurant. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and open. We highly recommend staying here. We will see you all again

Host, Shelly, was wonderful! Although in a neighborhood, Open-Air concept-house, amongst the VERY GREEN trees, certainly gave you the feel of being in the jungle… could hear all the sounds, from howling monkeys, to rainforest birds(Toucans, etc) to agoutis… and a few civilized dogs & cats. The woodwork and decoration was outstanding. She does as good as you possibly could with upkeep considering all the rain, surrounding trees, and animals. Kudos!

Great location, very close to a local grocery store and just a short walk to the beach. Peaceful and cozy. Beds are comfortable.perfect place for the kids to disconnect without a tv and social media. Shelly the host was very kind and offered advice and recommendations on local hangout spots, beaches and all sorts of cool activities in the area.
