Welcome to River View Retreat, a spacious 3,300 sq ft home in the heart of Douglas, Michigan. Enjoy stunning views across all three floors. Just minutes from the boutiques, restaurants, and beaches of Saugatuck. With 5 bedrooms, 4+ bathrooms, several living areas, and a hot tub, this property has the space you need for a relaxing getaway.
INSIDE THE HOME
Spread across three stories, the home is designed for groups who want to be together and have space to breathe. The sun room offers stunning year-round views of the river and is the kind of room people gravitate toward at every hour of the day. The main floor flows naturally from well-stocked-kitchen to dining to living areas, making group meals and late-night gatherings easy. Step outside to the deck for evening dining with a sunset backdrop, and relax the day away on the outdoor sectional. Then wind down in the private hot tub or next to the fireplace.
Head downstairs to the lower-level and enjoy the summer camp vibe with board games, shuffleboard, and a 75” TV. Walk outside to enjoy the new 6-person hot tub, play some games in the yard or listen to the birds. The lower-level main room includes an XL twin bed and a separate bedroom with two queen beds as well as a full bathroom. On the main floor there is a king bedroom with ensuite bathroom with safety bars. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a bathtub). The front room has an two XL twin beds and a couple foldaway pack and play baby/toddler beds in the closet. The back two rooms both have king beds and beautiful views of the water.
The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, coffee maker, Keurig, blender, and all the basics to cook and eat in the home. If you need to check emails, the home also has three desks and high speed internet.

This vacation rental sleeps 13 guests (plus two pack n play cribs).

OUTDOOR SPACE
There are two decks off the sunroom. Cook your meals on the new gas grill located on the smaller deck. The large deck has a sofa to curl up on as you watch the boats go up and down the Kalamazoo river. At the outdoor dining table you can enjoy your meals out in the perfect Michigan summer temps. Hang out in this space throughout the evening and enjoy watching all the birds. The lower yard features a 6 person hot tub and a hammock, both with incredible river views. Note the hot tub may be unavailable November through May so please ask about availability before booking. Backyard is fenced in with plenty of space for yard games. Front yard also has plenty of place for kids to play as you watch from the rocking chairs on the veranda.
Parking: Two garage parking spaces are available along with room to park three additional cars in the driveway.

We enjoyed this home so much that I had to edit what I say. The aesthetics, upkeep, and functionality are fantastic. Our large group ranged from age 7 -73 and everyone had a great time. The home had space so we could spread out as needed. The house was sparkling clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook or grill. The table in the kitchen dining area seated 10 and the island area had more.There are a couple desk areas which came in handy when my son had to work emergently overnight.We played games at the table by the kitchen and sometimes at the table downstairs depending on circumstances. There are 3 nice TVs ( we spent time watching soccer or listening to it as we played games). The 7 year old gravitated to the room I will call the study to curl up in the chair and watch a show.There is a nice selection of games, a sand shuffleboard table, (we had tournaments) and a hot tub. A pier, visible from the house, is easily walked to. Part of our group rented kayaks there and some did a little fishing. We were able to view fireworks over the lake from the house and decks. Aside from the house being very nice, there is a lot to do and see in the area. Oval beach and Saugatuck Dunes State Park are beautiful and close by. There were chairs we could take to the beach. There are shops and restaurants in Douglas and Saukatuck which is only few minutes away. Overall, it was a little pricey but worth it for the successful and enjoyable family vacation.

This beautiful home was perfect for our family trip. Bedrooms on three floors provided separate retreats for everyone, with many areas to enjoy together. The home was immaculate and in walking distance to downtown Douglas. We enjoyed watching deer and wild turkeys from the windows. We created memories to last a lifetime.

Five stars. I would stay again without thinking twice.We chose the house for the layout, and it delivered. The kitchen opens into the living area, so the person cooking is still part of everything. It made the whole place feel easy and social.The downstairs was perfect for the kids. It kept the noise contained and gave the cousins a real sleepover setup with two queen beds. They loved it.My pregnant sister stayed on the main floor. The king guest room with the en suite bath was exactly what she needed. Quiet, comfortable, and close to everything.Upstairs was just as perfect. Three bedrooms, all well done, all comfortable. The house felt luxurious and thoughtful everywhere, not just in the obvious places.The hosts were thoughtful in every way. They decorated the house for Christmas, with two trees, one on the main floor and one downstairs, Christmas lights outside. It made the place feel warm the minute we walked in.It was also immaculately clean. My standards are high, and theirs are too. The corners were clean. The back of the toilet was clean. That kind of clean is rare.There was no lack of supplies. Everything we needed was there, and it was quality. Bounty. Charmin. Brita. Reverse osmosis water.The photos don’t do it justice. The house is better in person, and the hosts are the best part. They were always in communication and made the stay feel simple. We felt lucky to have found it.

Absolutely amazing property!! Beautiful view, super clean, super comfy, extraordinarily well stocked, comfortable beds throughout the house, just wonderful!!!!! I really can’t say enough about how great this property is! We had 11 ladies and everyone was so comfortable and had an amazing time!!!
