in a large Mediterranean garden (9000 m2) , 2 cycladic houses recently built (2011), the main villa where the owners, an Italian couple (Milan) with a child, and the guest house, divided into two apartments, each with a wide veranda and exclusive portion of garden. Each apartment has a living room with 2 sofa beds, kitchenette, bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The apartments are furnished with a tasteful simplicity and elegance, houses 'design' while respecting the Cycladic style, and equipped with all amenities for a relaxing and comfortable.
Each veranda is equipped with a simple kitchen, as well as table, chairs and 'chaises longues'.
It is a house 'ECO', the materials used and all the equipment has been realized thinking of protecting the beautiful natural environment that surrounds it. The dirty water is retrieved, processed and recycled by a sophisticated system, only to be re-used to water the plants and flowers.
In the basement of the house there is a room shared by the two apartments, where can be housed luggage and any equipment.

New, clean, and well decorated.
A place to have nice vacations in this beautiful island.

It doesn't get better than this. We spent a week in this lovely home with a million-dollar view of the Aegean Sea and neighboring islands. The house is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed as well as a comfortable side veranda with the view of the sea. It is just a short distance outside charming Aegiali with its many shops and tavernas, and also a large beautiful, sandy beach where we swam every day.
We vacationed on 3 Greek Islands and found Amorgos to have the most dramatic views and rugged scenery. In 1 day we drove to the southern tip of the island - Kalotaritissa, which is a quaint little fishing hamlet with a beautiful swimming beach. Then on the way back we visited Hozoviotissa Monastery - the 11th century monastery built into the side of a vertical cliff on the sea, and then stopped at Chora on the way back to Aegiali. The island has numerous hiking trails with marked signs, and we did walk from Lagada to Tholaria which was pleasant but does involve a rather difficult and rocky river bed.
Lastly we want to thank Marco for inviting us into his home. And we hope to visit here again sometime in the future.

Our house had an exquisite view across the bay of Aegiali with it's ever changing colours. The holiday was relaxing, interesting and exciting. Amorgos is beautiful with more donkeys than cars.
Walking and exploring the villages by car is easy. Tiziana and Marco made us very welcome. They are a lovely couple who are on hand but very discreet. A whole month in a very special place.

We stayed in Ulivo for a week in September 2014, and we absolutely loved it! Fantastic location with great views, and the house was the perfect size and had everything we needed. Marco, the owner, was very kind in giving us lots of information on the island, and very discreet. If you are planning a visit, try to catch the ferry that arrives at/leaves from Egiali port, because the road to and from Katapola port is quite tiring into the night.
