The Space
Baxter’s Hide-Away Cottage offers the rare balance of seclusion and proximity—close enough to enjoy Burlington’s college events, festivals, triathlons, and vibrant culture, yet far enough to return to stillness at day’s end.
Lovingly brought to life at the close of August, the cottage has been created in a unique and heartfelt way. While portions of the surrounding grounds will continue to be completed through next year, the spirit of the space is already here—calm, enchanting, and restorative.
Our hope is that both the cottage and this special peninsula provide you with a deeply restful and refreshing stay.
Guest Access
Guests enjoy full, private access to the entire cottage.
A short walk down the hill brings you to the Causeway bike path, where miles of scenic beauty await. You’ll also have access to the Mills Point beach area, reserved for residents and their guests—perfect for quiet lakeside moments.

Location was amazing - loved access to the bike trail!

The location was perfect and close to activities and markets, but also secluded. The cottage was so clean and unique inside it felt like a very special getaway. We took advantage of the local drive in, shops, and the amazing views on the lake. This place is truly a hidden gem and I would absolutely recommend staying here.

It was VERY quiet. For us it was centrally located to all the areas we wanted to hike.The decor was absolutely amazing. Each day we would notice something we had missed the previous days.We would most definitely stay there again
