Arrive and feel right at home… Enjoy your vacation at the “Birnbaumhof,” a former horseshoe-shaped farmhouse. Relax in our cozy, inviting, comfortable, and lovingly furnished vacation home, which leaves nothing to be desired. The apartment is equipped with everything you need to make your vacation or business stay with us enjoyable: a fully equipped kitchen, coffee maker, toaster, egg cooker, microwave, and dishwasher; satellite TV, telephone, DVD/CD player, hair dryer, and much more. You can use Wi-Fi for free. Relax on our lawn, or enjoy a barbecue or game night outdoors. We’re located right next to biking and hiking trails. Discover the beautiful landscape of the Palatinate Forest and the Palatinate Highlands. How about a round of golf (just 3 minutes away)? Bike rental and storage, hiking and biking maps, free parking. Non-smoking property.
Recreational Activities: We are the ideal starting point for many sporting activities. For example, there’s an 18-hole golf course just 5 minutes away from the house. A bike path—which is also popular with inline skaters—and a hiking trail run right past the house. There are many interesting, well-marked biking and hiking trails. A 5-minute walk away, you’ll find Germany’s first “Monkey Climbing Forest.” In Kaiserslautern, you’ll find “Montemare,” a fully equipped wellness resort. In addition to a wave pool and various sauna areas, the offerings include a wide variety of massage treatments. For cyclists, we have at least 10 very interesting routes ready. Herbal excursions: Experience an introduction to herbal medicine in our own herb garden. In the shade of the old pear tree, you’ll learn about tea blends from the medicinal herb garden and, if you’d like, go on herb excursions. Join our guided herb excursions through forests and fields. Afterward, in our landscaped herb garden, you’ll learn to identify the cultivated plants and gain knowledge about the individual medicinal herbs and how they’re processed into teas, oils, and essential oils. In our tea storage area, you can “take in the aroma” of the herbs.

From the first moment we arrived, we felt like we were home, Octavia and Hermann were warm and inviting. I even tried out my German vocabulary. The apt was beautiful with everything you would need. The morning was the Best, Octavia Breakfast was delicious ! We enjoyed the bike path in the early morning light and the setting sun. I give the Birnbaumhof-Hotel Pension 5 stars!!

Everything was as described in the description of this apartment. Host was extremely pleasant and gave us some helpful suggestions about the area. She even offered cooked eggs for breakfast. We decided to pay the extra to include breakfast. Good selection for breakfast choices. I partially enjoyed her family herbal tea.
Apartment was well equipped and very comfortable. Host even had the heat on as she knew Americans liked it warm. Would definitely stay here again if we return to this area of Germany.
Be aware that the apartment is located on the 2nd floor and requires you to climb a flight of stairs. Not a problem, I just missed this detail in the description.

My wife and I have been to this B&B twice (2012, 2014) while visiting family at Ramstein AFB. We also traveled elsewhere around Europe when we were there and this is by far the best place we found. It is clean, spacious, comfortable, affordable and Octavia and Hermann are wonderful
hosts. In our experience they became friends rather than just landlords
during our two visits, which totaled about 5 weeks. Don't know when/if we'll ever get back to Schwedelbach but if we do this is where we'll stay.
I highly recommend this B&B to you.
