The Honeymoon Suite at Sunset Serenade is fully renovated as of May 2018. It comes equipped with a comfortable King size bed, air conditioning in the bedroom area, a complete kitchenette, a washer and dryer, and a large shower with a remarkable view that will make you feel like you’re outside.
The Honeymoon Suite’s best features, however, are its outdoor living areas. The screened-in porch that includes a dining table and sitting area is a great place to relax and feel the trade winds without having to put on bug spray. The suite also includes a large deck that has panoramic daytime and sunset views overlooking St. John, St. Thomas and the surrounding cays.

The view was exactly as pictured! It's a beautiful setting that overlooks the island. You could sit directly on the porch or enjoy the view from the screened in porch which was nice as dusk. The furnishings were comfortable and the AC was absolutely glorious. The host/hostess thoughtfully provided a few staples in the kitchenette one of which was a large container of cold water in the fridge. There were beach towels and beach chairs. They also had a washer and dryer with plenty of laundry soap pods which came in handy considering we'd already been traveling for 10 days. There are a couple of cons to this property that you might want to consider. First, the property is located up a hill and it's really not recommended to walk - to narrow, curvy, no sidewalks, etc. Which meant we had to order a cab each time we wanted to go to eat or explore. The ride down (or up) the hill was about 20 for both of us each way. Second, the power goes out in this area on a pretty regular basis. Our power went out in the middle of the night and the water went out too. The property's water is supplied from a well. So, when the power goes off so does the water. Disappointingly, I received no communication from the owner regarding the situation. This was out last morning and it would have been nice to have had a working bathroom or at least had information about what to expect. Our friends stayed in a hotel with a backup generator and did not have an issue.

The view was AMAZING! Wide view of the ocean and sunset. Very clean property and room. Great communication with host. Great to have the washer and dryer, beach supplies, kitchen supplies, plenty of towels. The screened in porch and outdoor porch were very spacious! Best trip I’ve ever had. Just used the taxi system as well.

Perfect home away from home! We loved the use of the Honeymoon’s small footprint. Wash/dryer was a huge plus. Nicely equipped with essential for island life. From a cooler, beach towels, chairs, DEET spray, kitchen utensils, dishes and coffee mugs. The bathroom is an adorable throw back with a loose pebble and tile floor. An open air washroom (off screened in porch) watch boats sail past while u bathe. Everything was very clean.We loved how the bedroom was closed off and only a/c area. Room was nice and cool at night, bed is comfy :) and a/c quiet. The communication throughout the trip was great. We look forward to booking again soon!The views! The sunsets were amazing from the deck. I didn’t notice any noise from the attached cabins. The only downfall is the drive up, lol. Just take your time and stay on the left.

This property is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near Cruz Bay. My 3-star rating is based on the fact that we were surprised and disappointed upon initial entry. The property is listed as an “apartment with kitchen,” however, it is not clear that the layout is more accurately a kitchenette with a mini-fridge just a few feet from the bed. (This is an issue because I wake up earlier than my husband—his career is incredibly taxing so catching up on sleep during vacation is a vital part of “getting away.)”We have booked through VRBO countess times in an array countries and this is the first time we felt misled. Additionally, the price reflects -condo- as opposed to what it actually is, which is an observation based upon our previous six stays in STJ. While the host was helpful when responding to my questions regarding check-in and check-out, I received no response when I politely voiced the property layout issue on our first day of travel. As an FYI, there is a closet with hangers and wire shelving, but there are no dressers for putting away clothing. Check-in/check-out was very simple and convenient. View of Cruz Bay is as beautiful as it is pictured in description. A full photo of the room facing the bed and kitchenette -combined- would clear up any misconceptions in terms of expectations. In short, if you’re looking for a hotel room style layout, this will be great for you. If you’d like an apartment with a separate kitchen, keep looking!
