Set in beautiful, peaceful countryside with wonderful views across the Garfagnana valley towards the Apuan Alps, Lama Piana consists of two charming traditional Tuscan stone cottages sharing a large private swimming pool and enormous, flat, fully fenced gardens.
Perfect for families and friends holidaying together, the property offers plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together, while the two independent cottages provide privacy and flexibility for different families or generations.
Situated on a lovely elevated meadow near the medieval village of San Romano in Garfagnana, Lama Piana is a wonderful place to escape the bustle of everyday life. Despite its peaceful rural setting, excellent restaurants, local shops and a surprising choice of activities are just a few minutes away.
The Accommodation
Lama Piana comprises two pretty traditional stone cottages, each with its own entrance, living room, kitchen, three bedrooms and two shower rooms.
The cottages retain their authentic Tuscan character, with exposed wooden beams, terracotta floors, chestnut windows and original stone features, alongside modern comforts to ensure a relaxing stay.
New for 2027: Cottage A has been refreshed with a brand-new kitchen, a lovely newly fitted shower room and fresh decoration, giving the interiors an updated feel while retaining their traditional charm.
Both cottages also benefit from insect screens throughout, particularly welcome during the warmer summer months.
Each cottage offers:
One double bedroom and two twin bedrooms
One twin bedroom that can be prepared as a double on request, arranged in advance

A comfortable living room with sofas, fireplace and TV
A fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer

Each cottage comfortably sleeps six guests in the standard beds, with the possibility of adding an extra single bed to one bedroom in each cottage, increasing the total capacity to 14.
This arrangement is ideal for two families sharing a holiday, or a larger family group where grandparents, parents and children can enjoy their own space while still spending plenty of time together.

At Cantina Bravi, guests can also arrange wine tasting, discovering more about local wines and the traditions of this beautiful region.
For a special evening, we can organise a private chef to prepare a delicious Tuscan meal at Lama Piana, allowing everyone to enjoy a memorable evening together without leaving the property.
Families will find plenty to keep children entertained too. Horse riding is available at a nearby riding centre (5 minute walk), while children and adults alike can enjoy the unusual experience of taking alpacas for a guided walk through the beautiful countryside around San Romano (2 minute drive).
The village of Camporgiano, just 5 minutes away, has a supermarket, pharmacy, bank, bars, pizzeria and train station, making it easy to pick up everyday essentials or enjoy a relaxed evening out.

Lama Piana was a great place to stay. We were two families (4 adults and 6 kids) staying for 10 days. It was very spacious. The houses were clean and had towels and linnen provided. There were both washing maschine and dish washer. There were a big garden for the kids to play soccer. The swimmingpool was great with an outdoor shower and sunbeds. The pool was approximately 150 cm deep. Wild guess 5 x 11 meters. The host Eduardo was very friendly and helpful, and easy to get in touch with when needed.
Lama Piana is in the countryside, but close to several local villages. Also just a 1-2 hours drive to Lucca, Pisa, Firenze and La Spezia/Sinque Terre.

We had a wonderful time staying at Lama Piana with our son and three grandchildren. The pool was a great asset given the very hot weather. We enjoyed most: days out in Lucca, the mountain drive to the beach at Forte dei Marmi and two good evening meals on the terrace at Il Grotto at nearby La Villetata.
