The impressive main home is anchored by a hand-hewn log cabin that has occupied the land since the early 1800's. With extensive renovations, the living space grew outward from the original cabin, creating a collaboration of rooms both cozy, with reclaimed wormy chestnut paneling, native stone, and chinked logs, and at the same time expansive, with vaulted ceilings, spacious gathering areas, and delightfully private sleeping quarters. A separate modern log cabin also shares the estate, offering excellent accommodations for friends and family. • Approaching the main entrance to Cool Stream Lodge, please note that there is no vehicle access over the bridge. Attempting to drive over the bridge may result in damage to property or vehicle.
• Travel Insurance Highly Recommended
We strongly recommend CSA Travel Insurance to protect your reservation against unexpected events such as inclement weather, medical emergencies, or travel delays.
• Swimming Pool Accessibility. The swimming pool at Cool Stream Lodge is open seasonally between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

This property was in excellent condition! One of the nicest, well stocked homes we’ve stayed in. Only a couple of things that would have made our stay better:- the pond was not as advertised. We were notified of this a couple of days prior to our arrival, but were still disappointed that it was not available for fishing.- it would have been nice if the property had a fire pit.Overall, the property met the needs of our large group & we had a very nice time.

The main house, guest house and pool are amazing. The houses are well appointed and easily accommodated our family of 14. However, be aware that Cool Stream Lodge is off the grid. The internet service is very poor (when there is any service at all). Don’t believe Carolina Mornings when they tell you the internet service has been upgraded. I was told, in writing, we would have hundreds of Mbps. The best we experienced over our five day stay was 20 Mbps. This was grossly insufficient to support our family members that needed connectivity to work. If you’re looking to disconnect, this place is great, but if you are reliant on internet service and you don’t want to spend your day in an Internet cafe in Asheville, you should look elsewhere.
