Treetop Lakehouse is nestled within a private gated community in Rosman, NC—just 20 mins from Brevard and an hour from Asheville. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest, this area offers some of the best outdoor experiences in the region—hiking, waterfalls, tubing, gem mining, stargazing, and more.
Located on the waterfront, this family-friendly cabin is 1.8 mi (2.9 km) from Nantahala National Forest and 5.2 mi (8.3 km) from the French Broad River. Crystal Mountain Gem Mine and Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute are also within 16 mi (25 km).
You will need a car to get around.

While accessible by most vehicles (guests have gone to the house in a convertible Mustang) it is suggested to have front wheel drive, AWD or 4x4 if there is potential for snow.

We had a wonderful getaway. Beautiful home and surroundings. Enjoyed the water, games, views and the peace. We had a great time with our kids. The area offers great hiking and waterfalls. Easy drive to Asheville area. Great communication with our kind hosts.

Home was gorgeous. Got married here with about 15 people on the day and 10 for the weekend. The views can’t be beat, and the amenities are everything and more. The ONLY issue I had with the home was the fact that the listing makes the lake access seem much simpler. My plan was to have the ceremony at the lake down by the water, but immediately had to change plans as stairs down to lake were VERY steep. My elderly family members and myself in a wedding dress never would have made it down there. It all worked out as we were able to manage on the top deck, really didn’t hinder the experience as a whole, just be forewarned that the lake access is not elderly or handicap-accessible. Still had an outstanding time, though.

The views were beautiful and the amenities were fun. There were several broken things at lakeside like paddle boats but we just made the best of it. We had a wonderful time and want to try another property using these hosts. The house was an amazing place to bring our family together.

Photos oversold this property. The road leading up to the property is unpaved/gravel uphill and dangerous without 4W drive. It is far from town/groceries/restaurants. The lake is a long treck from the home, we had young children and it took about 5 minutes carrying them down the steps. The downstairs “spa” add on had dangerous steep stairs (I have photos) and is not part of home- no staircase indoors down to the wellness area. The first day the power went out and we were unable to use the wellness area. The cold plunge pool full of dirt (photos). The hot tub full of dark hair when it says explicitly that it’s drained after every rental. The fireplace on porch and in master were inoperative. The owners sent a fantastic handyman, but he had to stand on the side of the mountain under the house to turn on the sub panel. This home was put together for photos to look ideal but it is dated and I would not call it “luxury”.
