VR 2026-07 Gentle Spirits

The Torch Lake lakefront is among the Midwest’s most popular vacation destinations—that’s what happens when you’re named one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

There are many different styles of homes along Torch Lake, but there are few that have the cozy yet luxurious appeal of “Gentle Spirit,” a truly exceptional home that stands out from the rest.

What’s amazing about Gentle Spirit is that it feels like a classic Michigan cottage and yet it provides vacationers with an expansive 4,500 square-feet of living space and five fully-outfitted bedrooms that make it easy to sleep 10 members of your friends and family.

The aesthetic of Gentle Spirit is tranquil, calming, and beautiful, but it also offers every amenity that a traveler could want. A fireplace, a stocked modern kitchen, six bathrooms, Wi-Fi, smart TVs with cable, washer/dryer, and almost anything else you need.

But let’s not forget about Gentle Spirit’s true appeal—it’s location. This custom-built home sits on the banks of Michigan’s largest inland land by depth and volume, a lake that’s world-famous for its crystal-clear waters that make it look like you’re in the Caribbean.

Visitors to Gentle Spirit can sit outside on the property’s expertly maintained deck and lakeshore, taking in the majesty of one of Michigan’s true natural wonders. You can take your boat out from the pristine dock or just sit alongside the dock’s edge and dangle your feet into the glacial waters.

Gentle Spirit's dock offers you one 6,000 lb capacity pontoon boat hoist, which can take pontoons up to 27 feet in length. We also have a mooring line for your use as well.

Every aspect of the home is equal parts comfortable and immaculate. Properties like this—on this exclusive lakefront—can be hard to come by. You will not find a better or more welcoming place to enjoy Torch Lake than Gentle Spirit.

Gentle Spirit is a short drive from wineries, Short’s Brewery, Elk Rapids, Traverse City, and local golf, hiking, and sporting locations. It’s in a perfect vacation location, but what you’ll never forget about this 4,500-square-foot lakefront property is how it allows you to experience Torch Lake in such an intimate setting.

There are only a handful of “Spirit” homes in the Torch Lake area—all owned by the same family who have spent decades building some of the most astonishing vacation homes in Michigan. Don’t miss this rare chance to spend some time at Gentle Spirit and have the vacation of a lifetime.
