Chosen by The Guardian Newspaper as a great place to experience Christmas, Letterbox Cottage is the perfect year-round location. This delightful country Lakeland cottage in beautiful Far Sawrey is ideally placed for an enjoyable holiday.. 3 steps to entrance.
Ground Floor:
Living room: 43" Smart TV, Woodburner
Kitchen/dining room: Electric Range, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer Dryer
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bedroom 2: Bunk (3ft) Beds
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Electric central heating (underfloor in kitchen/dining room), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot and highchair.. Small patio with bench. Private parking for 2 cars. Visit England 4 Star.. Set in Far Sawrey in the absolute heart of Beatrix Potter country, this delightful traditional Lakeland cottage is perfectly placed for an enjoyable holiday. Leave the car behind and enjoy walks and bike rides in stunning countryside direct from the door! The cottage is less than 3 miles to Hawkshead and 1 mile to Lake Windermere and the ferry, where you can enjoy stunning walks, mountain bike trails and enjoy a ferry cruise.
Letterbox Cottage is furnished with a cosy country charm, and includes a traditional wood burner, wooden beams, and impressive views across the surrounding countryside. The cosy living room with wood burner is upstairs but can be accessed at ground level. Use of the wood burner is optional as the central heating is the main source of heat. There is a popular, award-winning pub just a 2-minute walk away, serving lunch and evening meals as well as a variety of local ales. Alternatively, walk through the characterful village and across the picturesque fields to a traditional pub at Near Sawrey, once owned by Beatrix Potter herself. In addition, just 2¾ miles away at Hawkshead there is a variety of popular pubs, eateries, and a good selection of shops. Shop 2¾ miles, pub, and restaurant 120 yards.

We had a lovely 4 days at Letterbox Cottage. It was well equipped and comfortable. Our 2 dogs loved the local walks, but be aware that there isn’t any garden at the property for them. We gave 4 out of 5 for cleanliness just because the net curtains and windows need washing. Had a very nice meal in the pub opposite and they were very welcoming of our dogs.
