The Bure Valley Railway miniature gauge railway takes a ride through open countryside with on/off stops to popular riverside villages and the market town of Aylsham. The City of Norwich has a splendid castle, market, excellent shopping, eateries, theatres, and museums. Those with cars can travel east or west from here and find a string of impressive beach habitats including wide sandy shores, salt and clay marshes, rolling dunes, and picturesque quays. The whole area is packed with history too so do make time to visit the Blickling, Holkham, Houghton, and Sandringham Estates along with North Norfolk Railway, Norwich Castle, and the Thursford Collection with its Christmas Spectacular.
