This was a fantastic stay. Large family rooms are rare in Japan, so having such a comfortable shared space was a huge plus. The combo washer/dryer worked as expected, though we mostly used the drying racks. Heated floors in the morning were a luxury, and the whole place was spotless and well cared for. Thoughtful lighting added a great vibe. I’d definitely return.

Beautiful and clean house. Very spacious, and great amenities. Nice quiet location a very short cab from a lot of great sights in Kyoto.Really appreciated the shower room with the tub and the large windows. It was also a nice touch that robes, umbrellas, and laundry detergent came with the rental.Just lost one star due to the combination of 10am check-out time, 3pm check-in time, and check-out checklist for the guests. If a crew is coming in at 10:00am to clean and prep the rental, they should be able to adjust the climate control as needed, take out trash, etc. In general, the check-in and check-out times weren’t clearly listed on VRBO when we made our reservation, so we were disappointed to find them out via Japan Experience.

We loved our stay overall. The place was beautiful and spacious, and the architectural details and lighting were lovely. There was only 1 bed, which was a little disappointing to our adult children. Other places we’ve stayed in Japan have specified if a bedroom had only mats, but this listing indicated beds in all 3 bedrooms. It was still a nice place to stay. I only mention this to suggest that the listing could be more accurate if it was clear that only bedroom 1 has a true bed.

Cushions on the floor should not be considered ‘beds’- or sleeps 6, especially for adults. Location was too far from city center, ended up costing us a lot of money for Ubers to get to sights or restaurants.
