Our log cabin has a great private location nestled in an aspen grove just minutes from Grand Lake. We are just steps away from Columbine Lake, a private 45 acre natural lake just outside Rocky Mountain National Park. This is the perfect getaway for a family vacation, romantic getaway, or reunion with friends. Our location backs up to private wooded land, allowing for lots of privacy and an abundance of wildlife to come near the cabin including Moose, Deer, Fox, and Elk. We are located on a dead end street with neighbors on one side only. Rocky Mountain National Park is 1 mile away and the Village of Grand Lake is just a couple minutes drive.
The interior of the cabin offers an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings in the great room. Natural log beams support the loft upstairs and a log railing follows the stairs up and across the loft, giving it that rustic touch. On the main floor is the 2nd bedroom with queen bed, full bath with shower and laundry, fully stocked kitchen, dining area, great room, and a bar area. Upstairs you will find a full bath with shower / tub, large master bedroom with a king sized log bed and twin bunk beds, and the loft with a trundle bed that serves as the third bedroom. The loft offers privacy from the rest of the cabin and opens up to the balcony outside.
In the evening, have a fire in the fire pit outside and gaze at the stars up above. Rustic log benches surround the fire pit along with adirondack chairs. Please note, firewood may not be available at the cabin and can be purchased in town. If you are planning to bring your dog, well behaved pets will be considered and a pet fee would be applied to your reservation if approved.
Grand Lake is a year round destination. During the summer you can enjoy boating on the 3 lakes (Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, and Lake Granby), hiking, mountain biking, ATVs, 4th of July fireworks, and the list goes on. During the winter months this area is the snowmobiling capital of Colorado with over 100 miles of groomed trails. Skiing choices are plentiful between Ski Granby Ranch nearby, Winter Park and the legendary champagne powder of Steamboat Springs. Perhaps the greatest year round draw of the area is Rocky Mountain National Park with it amazing scenery and abundance of wildlife.

We had a great time! Check in was easy. The cabin was a comfortable home away from home. We loved seeing all the wildlife just outside the windows. It is also close it the park entrance and town.

It was a fabulous day. The cabin was beautiful and very accommodating for our party of 5. We were very comfortable, and we used the kitchen a lot. We brought our own large crockpot, but there was one already available (we still used our own). Lots of pots and pans, utensils, eating supplies. Water pressure in the showers was great. Washer and dryer was large capacity, and soap and fabric softener was available. The first floor had a few large uncovered windows and doors, which was a little creepy at night with our all-female group (and a male neighbor directly across the way stopped by to invite us over for a bonfire - which was nice, but…), but it wasn’t a huge deal. We saw plenty of wildlife outside of the cabin, just no moose sadly. We saw deer with babies, elk, large hares, magpies, bluebirds, hummingbirds and a chipmunk briefly on the porch (or a ground squirrel… it was too fast to tell). Travel to the RMNP gate was literally 3 minutes. So convenient. Overall, our stay was a wonderful experience. We hated to leave! Highly recommend. Scott is very responsive and nice. Would definitely stay again.

Clean property, great communication, and excellent location for RMNP and downtown Grand Lake. We were expecting three bedrooms per the listing, but one of those was a loft, which opened to the living room below. We still enjoyed our stay!
