Villas of Kamalii 40: elegant air-conditioned villa with pool, walking distance to golf, beautifully updated inside, all the amenities you could wish for. The Villas of Kamali'i is an upscale gated community in Princeville with a heated salt water pool, hot tub, and poolside grill. It is adjacent to the Robert Trent Jones designed Makai Golf Course and a 4-minute walk to the Makai Clubhouse, tennis, and the Makai Grill. Just a brief 10-minute drive away you'll find the glorious Hanalei Bay beaches, and numerous shopping and dining options in the town of Hanalei.
Our Kauai vacation rental Villas of Kamalii 40 is fully air conditioned with two master suites, and a third guest bedroom. (Please note that the guest bedroom does not have it's own vent for the AC ) The upper level, with its vaulted ceilings, includes the well-equipped kitchen, dining area with seating for six, and comfortably furnished living room. Rainy days won't be a problem as there's plenty of entertainment. The living room includes a 65-inch Smart TV with a Bluetooth WiFi Speaker - connect and play your music! And you can sit out on the spacious lanai to dine al fresco and enjoy spectacular mountain and waterfall views.
One master suite is located on the main level, furnished with a king size bed, and another smart TV. The spacious en-suite bathroom has dual sinks and a large walk-in shower. You'll be able to enjoy a private mountain view lanai, perfect for relaxing with your morning coffee or a nightcap in the evening as you're cooled by the tradewinds. The guest bedroom is also on the main floor, with a queen size bed, its own smart TV, and a desk area ideal for those working vacations. Just across the hallway is a full guest bathroom with shower. Downstairs you'll find the grand master suite. It's got a Cal king bed, its own smart TV, and another private lanai with mountain and waterfall views. The large, modern en-suite bathroom has a jetted tub, walk-in shower, and dual sinks. The laundry room is also downstairs, and is equipped with a full-sized washer, dryer and sink.
Garage parking is available, no need to park outside in the hot sun! Super fast WiFi will keep you well connected! Golfers take note - golf clubs are provided for you! There are also BBQ tools for those poolside cookouts. And in the garage you'll find snorkel gear, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach bags, a cooler, and even a surfboard and boogie board for your use!

We just returned today from our stay at this property. I will say that the property rental is everything it says it is, and more! It was perfect for a family of 5. Mom and Dad were able to have their own suite downstairs and the adult/teen children had their own space as well. We went in July and the a/c was great to help cool things off. We agree with other reviewers, it would be nice if the queen bedroom had a/c (or even a quieter fan), and somewhere to put your luggage, but it certainly is not a dealbreaker. The kitchen is well stocked with things you would need to cook at home and having the garage stocked with so many extras was a great bonus. The host was great at communicating and very thorough. We would 100% stay here again!

Lovely home, peaceful location and comfortable. Loved that the kitchen had a great set of pots, pans and cooking utensils so was easy to cook in. Beds were comfortable, and views were spectacular. There was both snorkeling gear and beach chairs available, umbrellas and a large cooler. We only wished there had been some sort of dresser or armoire in the middle bedroom, we found it seriously frustrating not to have a place to put one’s clothes.

We had an overall nice stay at this property. The location was great, peaceful, quiet, and perfect for relaxing. The space itself was very spacious and worked well for our family.However, we did experience an issue with the hot water during our stay. We reported it and tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps, but unfortunately there was no improvement and we had no hot water at all. The water heater appeared to need servicing. We understand that sometimes issues like this come up and may not be fixable right away. That said, it was a significant inconvenience for us as a family of six, especially with children, and having only cold showers made things quite challenging.Management was responsive initially and mentioned they were looking into the issue and would follow up, but we didn’t hear back which is disappointing. Overall, we enjoyed the property and its peaceful setting. It would be helpful for future stays if maintenance checks are completed ahead of guest arrivals to ensure everything is working properly and avoid similar issues.
