The Kona Ali’i is a charming vacation rental perfectly situated on Alii Drive, close to Coconut Grove Marketplace known for the vibrant Kona nightlife. Located directly across the street from Water’s Edge, this unit offers the ultimate convenience of being in the heart of Kailua-Kona.
The Space:
This property is ideal for a small group, accommodating up to 4 guests with its 1 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Enjoy ocean views and the convenience of being close to town, with great restaurants and shops within walking distance. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO AC IN THE UNIT
We provide 2 beach chairs and 1 cooler for guest use. Beach towels are available for guests.
The condo unveils into a bright and open living room. Plush seating arrangements are circled in front of a mounted flat screen TV. A DVD player, a work desk, and WIFI are provided to ensure your convenience. The space features a Queen-sized Murphy bed that conveniently pulls down from the wall, as seen in the photos. A shared guest bath can be accessed from here.
Across from the living room is a well-equipped kitchen. All appliances needed are ready to help a chef whip up delicious snacks and meals. Call your guests over to the formal dining table with seating for 4 to have a home cooked meal together. Step outside onto the private lanai and enjoy a cold drink watching the sunsets over the ocean.
Down the hall is the primary bedroom. The bedroom is furnished with a luxurious King-sized bed and has an attached private bathroom. The bathroom has a shower/tub combo and a separate vanity to make getting ready easy. The vacation home is prepared with a washer and dryer combo, convenient for any wet bathing suits.
Kona Alii Condominiums also has a parking space for this unit labeled #204 and a secured building entry. There are BBQ stations and an outdoor swimming pool for guests to use.
Street noise from nearby bars and music may be noticeable when doors are open. While the location is ideal, right in the heart of Kailua-Kona and surrounded by vibrant nightlife, we unfortunately have no control over the types of individuals who frequent the area or the activities that may occur nearby

• For stays extending 30 nights or more, a security deposit and utility fee will be required. The security deposit ensures the protection of the property during your stay, while the utility fee covers essential services such as electricity and any damages that are caused by guests.

This is an older but well-kept condo complex. The large pool area is beautiful. The condo itself has many positive points: comfortable bed, nice linens, well stocked kitchen, comfortable couches, nice big TV, and the lovely view of the ocean (though the power lines don't show in the picture). Lots of restaurants within easy walking and several beaches. We never spoke to the management in person, but they were always very responsive to texts.The negatives have been mentioned in other reviews. The street noise is loud (who knew that slow cruising with the sound system absolutely blasting was a thing?!). Closing the sliding glass doors helps a lot, but then the condo gets warm and stuffy (no a/c). If you're a light sleeper, bring very good ear plugs. The hot water in the shower took about five minutes to get hot. We did report that.

Overall everything was above average. Upon check-in we found some towels with stain, later found out they want you to clean the towels before check-out, except one set of towel per person (same thing with linens) . Would request management to change that policy, you never know if tenants before you actually cleaned them.Location was great with beautiful sunset view. It was bit noisy in daytime but at night had no problem sleeping (considering I’m light sleeper) Lot of restaurants and bars right outside your doorstep. Property was safe.
