Nestled in the heart of Mauritian nature, La Case Najoli is a charming and cosy Creole bungalow, ideal for 4 guests . With its private swimming pool, tropical garden and beach only 30 metres away, it is a true little paradise for guests seeking peace, nature and authenticity.
Surrounded by coconut trees, deer and exotic birds, the house offers a calm and timeless atmosphere. From the terrace, you can enjoy endless views over the natural landscape, the hunting grounds and the distant mountains. A rare and deeply relaxing escape, far from the crowds.
La Case Najoli is located near the coconut grove and about 100 metres from Chez Zaza, while remaining completely private and independent. You will enjoy total tranquillity and privacy.
The bungalow features:
2 air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms
an open-plan kitchen and living area
a small lounge with smart TV
a large furnished terrace with dining table and rattan seating
a private swimming pool
a shaded pergola with a cosy sitting area, perfect for reading or enjoying a drink at sunset
The bedrooms overlook the beautiful tropical garden and large surrounding trees.
A housekeeper comes daily for 2 hours. A cook can also be arranged upon request for an additional hourly fee.
For families:
A baby cot is available, and a high chair and baby bath can be provided on request. Children have plenty of space to play in the garden. Please note that the swimming pool is not fenced.
Important: one of the bedrooms has independent access from the terrace and is not directly connected to the rest of the house. It is therefore better suited for older children or adults.

La Case Najoli is a simple and authentic Mauritian bungalow with more than 100 years of history. Originally a staff house, it has been transformed into a holiday home while intentionally preserving its original Creole charm and character.
This is not a modern villa or a luxury property. The furniture is intentionally traditional, and although the house is regularly maintained and repainted, it remains a rustic tropical home with the atmosphere of old Mauritius rather than a modern hotel-style accommodation.
Nature is very much part of the experience. Geckos, tropical insects and occasionally a small field mouse may be seen, as can happen in traditional countryside homes in Mauritius.
Guests who appreciate authenticity, nature, tranquillity and the charm of old Mauritius will truly love this unique place.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at La Case Najoli. Communication with the host Dominique was easy and prompt throughout - and the Owner Elizabeth also visited us several times to check all was well - which was much appreciated.The facilities were as described in the listing - and the property was well equipped with all the essentials for our stay. There was a little confusion about the location of the washing machine which was in the pool house in the garden - which was fine.While the villa itself is quite rustic - this is exactly what we enjoy - and we found it to be very charming.We also enjoyed the birds, geckos, toads and various wonderful insects that visited us (except the inevitable tropical island mosquitoes) - and the bats, deer, cows and (wild) pigs that were sighted around the property. A housekeeper is available for cleaning and sheet/towel washing - but we preferred to do this ourselves - and Elizabeth and her team were very accommodating to this.The location is very convenient for the beach which is a short stroll away. The nearest takeout food (La Prairie Snack) is a little further in Le Morne - but is tasty and has very reasonable prices.For anything else food wise - apart from an ice cream from the van on the beach at weekends - a car is needed for a visit to La Gaulette- or further afield to Black River or Tamarin.Thank you again to Elizabeth, Robert and the whole team for a memorable and welcoming time -hope to see you all again soon.

Nice accommodation in a lovely rural setting. The hoasts Robert and Elizabeth were so kind and helpful. We arrived following a cyclone - everywhere was flooded and we were delayed several hours in driving from the airport. Robert and Elizabeth waited for us and russled up some food and wine which was greatly appreciated.
The grounds are.are very special and you are in the middle of farmland. There is an abundace of wildlife including birds,frogs,giant sails and every insect you can think of. Also wlld pigs but they can get in and dig up parts of the lovely gardens
Guests should bring plenty of insect repellant because all of the abundant grassland is a breading ground for mosquitoes especially in the rainy summer months.
We loved the cottage but it is less private than one might imagine because there are no gates or fences.

A nice, pretty villa in a great location away from the madding crowd yet close to beautiful beaches.
We had a great time here, chilling in the shade or a refreshing dip in the pool. 3 minutes walk to a great beach and a short drive to get anything you need or enjoy a nice meal.
At night enjoy listening to the wildlife or watching the fruit bats fly over at dusk. Warm by day and comfortable by night. We never needed the air-con preferring to open the windows to the breeze. There is functioning broadband and a TV if you need to stay in touch with the world or alternatively you could do as we did and never turn it on preferring instead to chat, read or just watch the local wildlife.
The villa has everything you will need. Kitchen might need a bit of a refresh but it all functions well.
Communication from Dominique and team was great and the drive from the airport was easy. Car hire is a must! Maps.me is a great app to help you find your way (Recommended by Nazim who hired us our car!). Roads are relatively quiet and easy to drive on. In summary a great relaxing holiday. We look forward ot returning in the future.
